You guys need to go in May. Weather is perfect, not sitting there frying in line.
I stroll over to the entrance by Wicked Twisted (park in the back by soak city). Get in an hour early (people at that entrance assume you are coming from hotel breakers). So we get in an hour early with our regular pre-season $29.99 tickets.
We ride Power Tower, Maxair, Maverick, Magnum XL multiple times, 2 rides in on Millie, and we were done by fucking 5 pm.
I used to go to CP a lot. I mean 10+ a year. The only time to avoid the crowds are either May, or Fridays during the fall when the park is only open from 6pm till midnight? But its all about crowds though....
A visit in May 2008 we were literally allowed to re-ride Top Thrill Dragster multiple times in a row (10x+) no bullshit. The first couple times the ride ops made us run around from the exit of the queue to the entrance (this is like a 5 minute jog). Anyways, after he sees the same group of people just going back for the same rides, and no line forming. He says we can re-ride as long as we exit the train, and then re-board the train. So we do this a few more times....
Go during the right day in May and you will never wait more than 15 minutes (For anything).
June- August = gay. Its so fucking warm out you want to just buy something to drink, spending an assload left and right in lemon chills and this and ice cream, gatorades, etc.. I should add that you can get FREE CUPS OF WATER anywhere, just ask. Then most people in your group are like oh lets not get our bathing suit on and go to the water park because i love walking around in wet boxers and shorts and shit right? So someone has to suggest thunder canyon / snake river falls or the new ride (haven't rode that yet) and everyone is wet and miserable then.
So by 2pm you are nearly dead waiting in line....watching top thrill dragster work...and go down...work and go down for repair. Then you rationalize spending another like $20 just to go float around in their water park which is only open till 6 or 7 pm anyways.
What I am saying here is....its a bitch to go to cedar point now. Too much waiting in line......
Plus im not a huge germophobe but rides at amusement parks during these scorching summer days....pretty fucking nasty. Head rests are just caked in stanky sweat. Go during the beginning of the season and everything has that nice fresh "still early season" feel.
Thats my advice......
Oh yeah, use Power Tower to your advantage. If you face Millennium Force / Top Thrill Dragster you can EASILY get a glimpse of the line at Millie or Top Thrill. Avoid the crowds....don't settle on a 1.5 hour wait.....and learn the park map. I used to waste time fucking walking around retarded not realizing i just walked to the mantis entrance trying to find the millennium force entrance.
Oh and want to end the day nice and classy? Hotel breakers provides towels, they have a decent hot tub, its right on Lake Erie, you got 2 pools in all to choose from. But they don't check to see if you are a guest there as long as you aren't a dipshit.
So if you really need a pool break....hit up hotel breakers pool and just act casual as if you were coming from your room.
