US has had posession 59% of the time, I think they are doing well. they just need to drive it down the line, one goal like that is lucky and i doubt it will happen again. england will keep shutting the US down every tiem they get down there and its 2 on 7.

Exactly. I counted a couple times.  We had some good defensive stops though. Considering how favored england was, I'm happy with a draw, but the us could  have capitalized in some spots.

No one deserves slack after that goal.  Fucking majority of high school level goalies would have had that.

He did have a fairly good save later in the game though off the post, but its arguable that it should have been that close in the first place.

It might have been bs, but its not our fault that we have a way better goaltender than you do...

hell... that near miss by altidore almost went in off of Green and into the goal.. He had a bad night, but England was not dominant by any means in the game.

Howard however, was amazing, and england  was stymied on most of their chances. The americans bend, but dont break... and they're great at clearing out the box... They're certainly a quality side, and I'm usually the biggest critic of the USMNT there is...

You cannot talk shit anymore, England... because the average age of our team is something ridiculous like 24.5

No other team except maybe the Spanish, Dutch or the brazillians can keep up with the speed of the american team - and yet the Dutch and the Spanish are likely to give up goals to the American style of counterattacking speed play. (as seen last year in the confederations cup, when the USA kept letting the spanish come in deep, and then kicked it out and had a 4 or 5 on 2 chance... and Puyol, as good as he is, couldnt stop speedy guys like the US players...
There were many times that Jamie Carragher was needing to pull out everything he had to keep from getting beaten... and he still got beaten. Altidore was so near to a goal... give the us 4-8 years, and the americans are going to be a top 10 team in the world...

They definitely have more depth, and more quality overall, I wont deny that... play 10 games against them, and they'd probably win 5, draw 3 times, and lose 2 times against the US.

but the USA has had a league since 1996. the English have had one since like... before 1896... They take mad pride in their football, and for us its just another sport that 'nobody watches', and yet, we are closing that talent gap faster than anyone else would.

Oh yeah I totally agree and this game is a great example of that. Did you by any chance catch Time's article on the Cup? It was really funny because it basically said "lol you guys better hope we don't start caring about this sport because once we do we are just going to beat everyone at it".
