my friend got a slinter that touched the underside of his toenail when it went through. ahh
So one day skiing at my local mountain in february I arrive to a powder covered hill (which is extremely rare in quebec) and start to put my gear on. I get all my stuff on and open my trunk to put on my boots. I looked for them for a good 5 minutes and sure enough I forgot to bring them. At this point I was ready to use any old pair of boots as I didnt want to miss out on the fresh snow. Lucky enough for me my sisters boyfriend had left her boots in the car from last weekend. They were racing boots but the same size that I take, figured it shouldnt be a problem. So I put them on and they felt pretty tight, but i wasnt about to drive back into town just because of a tight pair of boots. So I rode for a solid 5 hours non-stop thinking everything would be good. On my last couple of runs in the park I felt a tingling sensation in my toes and just figured it was because the boots were a bit tight. Well this was definetly the case, my feet had gone completely numb the whole day and I had no idea the damage that I had done to them until I took my boots off in the parking lot. So once I start walking back to my car I finally start to feel the pain, boy what it fucking bad. I take of the boots to see to COMPLETELY black and purple toe nails that were more swollen then an errect penis. I cannot describe how miserable of a drive home it was. I get home and my feet are pulsing with pain, its was ridiculously unbearable. It got so bad that I decided i need to drain it. My mother who is a nurse had to take a bobby pin and stick it under a fire for 30 seconds until the metal turns red hot. She then burnt a hole through my nail so that the blood could be released. It wasnt all that bad until she went straight through my nail and burnt a hole into the bruised skin. Lets just say walking was not the easiest thing to do for the next week...
So now my toes have no brusing at all but the nails have yet to fully grow back. It was quite the task to get the nail off. Dont hurt toes kids.
