LamerthanFDR made the only good post here. My aunt is from Kingston and lived there for 30 years before moving to the Bahamas. Delphi could you be anymore stereotypical and anymore wrong? Jamaicans hate all white people? They would probably hate you because of the way you think of them in regards to 3rd class citizens. It is disgusting how many false things are perpetuated because people heard there was a "drug war" going on.

Adrian stay to the resort. It can be a dangerous place, but the people there are also very nice. As long as you don't act above anyone and have an open mind you will be ok. I am a small white kid and I never had any problem getting around Kingston. I met some awesome locals and had some great discussions with them.

I went to Jamaica about 5 years ago. I'm going again this summer. Agreed, stay in a resort. The people at the resort love you. The people outside of the resort love you too, because you have money. I posted a story my parents friend told me when he went, and didn't stay in the resort, but rather in a hotel downtown, because he wanted the experience of a real Jamaican. As I said, it's dangerous, or it appears to be, but he loved it.

On a scale of 1-10 it's like a 6. If you know someone who lives there, you'll be fine. They'll take care of your ass. If you don't, I suggest sticking to the nicer parts, and maybe just staying at your resort. There's not much on Jamaica that you can't see on another, less hostile island. My suggestion if you still haven't got some tickets, is just to go to St. Maarten. French side and Dutch side are both pretty nice, you can go on day trips to Saba and St. Barths, beaches are really nice, shit's not that expensive. I like it better than Jamaica.

good advice, negril and montego bay are basically designed for tourists, while kingston would be like going to downtown detroit or something like that for vacation......

Also, isn't there two airports on Jamaica?

(Funny, I'm taking a summer class for college, so I wrote an essay about my trip to Jamaica because this thread inspired me to haha)

i'd say there's a lot of reasons crazyfuck was, and should have been banned...if i remember right, he once offered to fly someone out to his house just so they could fight. Haha, got he was a fucked up member. All i remember is that every argument with him somehow ended with how he was gonna go "have sex with my super hot girlfriend, like i do everyday."

anyways, i'm not saying much about the laptop, because that doesn't involve me, just like it doesn't involve almost all of you. But wishing horrible death upon someone for a few hundred bucks, in an issue that you are not included in, is fucked all the same.

And like a lot of people have said, just be smart and you'll be safe. Don't go wandering around slums looking like a tourist and you'll be ok.

Im living with a straight rasta gangster from Kingston at the moment. Its pretty sketch if you put yourself in shitty situations, but as long as your straight about it, you should be fine. I wouldnt pass the oppurtunity to go, if you wanna take chances, you can, if you wanna play it safe, you can.
