Real Quick Question---Scary Youtube set of videos

there was a thread on this earlier in the year and i was just BSing with my friends about shit and it came up.  i know its fake and stupid, but we were talking about it and it's one of those things that's just bothering you and you need to find because it drives you nuts.

description:

it's like a set of videos with little to no sound at all.  there's a bunch of entries.  it's supposed to be from a kid that went crazy filming a weird project for school and his friend found the videos.  he doesn't know what order they're in but the kid goes crazy and the videos get really weird and shit.  i know the first couple have like a creepy tall dude outside his house and stuff.  then there's one video with a bunch of arms coming from the ceiling and walls and shit.

again, i know it's stupid/fake....but i need to know!

I just read about the Slender Man and saw pics, now I'm too skiddish to watch the vids. Is this shit meant to come off as real, or is it just a project? Of course I don't think it's real, I just want to know the purpose because it is a great urban myth type plot in the same vein as the Blair Witch Project. The slender man myth as well, is that supposed to be real, or just some cooked up interweb myth?

dont get into this shit, for real, it fucked me up, literally terrifying, and not in a sense you'll be like "oh I dont get scared in movies" its actually the most creepy video series i have seen and I actually had nightmares for a while

Don't be such a Mary, watch it! Take comfort in the fact that it isn't real, but I suggest watching tomorrow at like, 7 am just to be safe. Shit scares me just reading the descriptions. Doesn't help that I'm in a dark room with huge windows.

I watched them a few months ago. They're pretty cool and quite well done. It's kinda like a more creative on the Blair Witch/Paranormal Activity idea. Minus a couple jump out of your seat moments they're really not that scary, more like atmospheric. And they're way more effective if you watch them all sequentially. Don't skip around or you lose all of the appeal.

Think of it as watching a really creative indie suspense thriller.

Just so's you know, Slender man is as fake as they come. It was created on some message board to spam paranormal sites. The pics are all photoshopped, stories are all fake. Such a shame, the Slender Man myth is so damn cool.
