Hey, does anyone have a video of Tanner's D-Spin 1080? I believe it's from Happy Days, and he is wearing all white outerwear.
Thanks in advance!

Dan this is too weird that you just posted this. Last night I was chilling in my room which is covered in wicked old ski magazines (mainly Freeze) and I was looking at the oakley mini poster of Tanner in all white with red scratches, completely upside down with a massively crossed up tail grab. If you look at the jump, the lip is really steep and like 4 feet wide and if I remember correctly the landing is really steep also, its like a booter jump. I was just thinking to myself, "Damn! That was one of the best forward tens ever, soo smooth, soo ahead of it's time" and then I was just like " Damn...Tanner has done some of the coolest shit ever."
Literally I thought all of those tings last night...which is strange cause I haven't thought about or looked at that 10 in a long time...making this a very strange coincidence. Grreat minds think alike.
But damn, Tanner is the man. He did so much shit for our sport, it's retarded.

I feel like he did it over a hip, but either way, Happy Dayz is such a good movie. Gonna have to go watch it now for sure.

Not a hip, just a steep ass "table" that sent you higher than far...if you know what I mean.

Is it really a D10? I always thought it was a cork 10. But in any case, that is my favorite part in the movie and have watched it like 20 times. So flawless. other guys have them doing 3s or a 7 in their segment over the same jump and it looks huge, then Tanner throws an insanely gorgeous 10.

that shot is the climax of happy dayz for me. and I always considered it a d10. he's way inverted.

I haven't watched Happy Dayz in years, mostly because I don't own a VHS player any more.

I was blown away by that shot and wondered why it never happened again. And yeah d spins are just inverted corks but skiers felt compelled to split hairs and call it a different name. kind of like flatspins and rodeos.

D is for douglas. the term dspin was used before cork in skiing and they're different anyhow. get learned.

And if a flatspin is done correctly it is a way different trick than rodeo. once again, get learned.

I'm pretty sure it was only in Happy Dayz, duderino. I always wished they would have shown a bit more from the start of the trick/hitting the lip. I think Hall's switch 450 on 270 off is still one of the smoothest out there.

That is what he is saying, a D-Spin is a like a cork, but inverted, as with flatspins, they are like rodeos.

Yeah that was sick. T Hall pushed it so hard. I'd like to see Candide's D-spin 10 from the gravity games or the us open again too. T Hall's was sicker though.
When I saw Leigh Powis' forward blunt 12 in his edit on the PBP site it reminded me of T Hall's D-Spin 10. It wasn't quite inverted enough to be a D-spin maybe, but it was laid out like a D-Spin, which is really the core of the trick in my opinion. You can do a flippy cork 7 and set it back over your shoulder, but it won't look like a D-spin unless you lay it out.

There was an issue of Freeze where they showed you how to do a D-spin 1080 with that shot of Tanner. I would like to see the video again.
