lol. hd video which shouldn't even be considered hd has been on cell phones for quite some time now...

facetime is exactly like skype. inexpensive lg phones that are almost one year old have front facing cameras and are able to video call, so what makes facetime so special?

nothing new here... yet apple still convinces people they created something spectacular... i guess that's marketing.

Nothing new here are you serious? You're fuckin retarded. The whole phone is completely different then the 3G.

-HD 720p camera and imovie
-Gyroscope incorporated into the accelerometer
-5mp camera with led flash
-Bigger battery 300 hours standby
-Bigger/clearer screen
-Multitasking and Folders
-Facetime
Those are just some of the new things that make this phone different then the 3G.

So i'm pretty sure that iphone 4 > shitty LG "inexpensive" phones.

i meant nothing new to brag about. i wasn't saying apple hasn't improved from the 3gs, i was saying their new iphone is equivalent to phones that are already out.

compared to phones other than iphones:
720p video is available on many phones and has been around for a couple of months. nothing special here.

imovie is editing software on a phone. this already exists but the "i" infront of it makes it spectacular i suppose.

gyroscopes are unnecessary and imo accelerometers suffice. apple had to update this though since the 3gs didn't rotate a full 360 degrees... and either way, gyroscopes are applied into many areas of communication and entertainment. a wiimote uses them and the wii has been out for over 3 years....

5mp camera is the standard nowadays. they could have gone to 8 but they didn't. and led flash? bb's and other phones have had led flash for a while now. xenon flashes will be used in the near future.

300 hours standby sounds like a lot.. but my ancient palm treo 600 from 2003 had that amount also... so what's so good about that?

i admit, the iphone 4 has an impressive screen. very high resolution which is cool, but might lead to headaches from such a high pixel density. please note that i admit this exceeds any smartphone to date and is innovation.

multitasking is nothing to even note. my windows mobile 6 phone from 2 years ago has multitasking. i don't understand what the big deal behind it is... but that's just me. and either way, palm (hp now) perfected it imo. yes i have not used ios 4 yet, but webos is wonderful.

and folders... ahaha it's about time! such a basic feature that all phones, not just smartphones, have.


there. im sorry to confuse you. i meant compared to the norm or smartphones, not previous iphones.

sorry for exploding. i just don't like apple's technique that's all. the first iphone was revolutionary though because they were the first ones, or one of the, to use a capacitive touch screen!

the main thing i dislike is how people think apple is so innovative! it's like they're brainwashed from the marketing. i was just trying to prove that everything on the phone has been out for a while, except the resolution, and that people shouldn't be so surprised, that's all.

i'll keep my hate inside

i love how there are these people giving apple shit for having a front facing camera and shit like that when "other shitty phones have had that for a month". apple holds this event every year to release the new iphone. they have obviously been working on it long ago and already had this shit ready to go back when the first one was found in that bar a few months back. so what if the camera is only 5mp who uses their phone as a primary camera anyway? i could care less, if i get one it would be because it is a dope looking phone and i love the interface. that is why anyone gets it. apple just knows how to do it and makes all their shit look sexy as hell. so what if other phones have had that shit before, apple just made it all look so sleek and easy to use. whatever they are doing, it's obviously working

its def cool to see a new design for the iphone and its pretty cool.

i think this is apple's stratgy - apple spends a whole year creating the newest and best ipod (lets say) and when it comes out kids will start to bug the hell out of there parents untill they parents get fend up and finally buy the ipod for the kid. thats apple stratgy to make more and more money imo. its a good stratgy, but i know im not going to bug the hell out of my parents because my ipod works perfectly fine and ive dropped it from 20 feet on to tile.

sorry for talking about ipod, its just easier.

I agree with you 100%, although I don't see what's wrong with being an apple fanboy, i've loved every single one of their products i've ever tried (except the macbook air, which i still at least liked)

and the 5mp camera will be up to par because they are using a backside illuminated sensor

Only reason I wouldn't buy one is their lack of storage. I'm the type of person who needs all of my music with me all the time. I don't want to sift through my library trying to guess what I'll want to listen to, I want it all with me. I have 40GB of music alone, not to mention videos, pictures, whatever else I would keep on an iphone. I have a 120GB ipod and until they release a 120GB iphone I wouldn't get one. At least make a 64, 32 is nothing.

god chapz snowcase and mrstskier always gotta have a bug up the butt....
the reason why the iphone is so nice, just like mac, is that everything works. Android is becoming "the windows for smartphones" (nomen said that in another thread). Android is nice on paper, but is so shitty on some phones. The HTC hero is the slowest phone I have ever used, and the first gen iPhone is still just as slick as the droid. Apple really knows how to make software that compliments the hardware, where android is just one size fits all. The iPhone will aways be the best because of how it performs in real world situations, not by stats.

Jokes aside, people that buy the new macbook pro, iphone, and ipod every time they come out are idiots. I got my macbook when i started college, I'm a junior now, it still works great and i love it. I also got my iphone 3g around the same time, but because of my work and lifestyle it's begun to fall apart somewhat.... thank god there's a new one coming out. can't wait to get it!
