i guess from 90 a rodeo is more like a misty. or you have to rodeo to make it look misty. but i might be on acid as well

Rodeo and Misty aren't really even similar, I don't get how people get them mixed up. One is forward, one is backwards.

nah son, rodeo is definitely backwards. but they are quite similar because some people set them on the border between forwards and backwards. a flatspin is simply a rodeo that does go inverted

no... what the fuck are you talking about? rodeo's/flats are set backwards and to the side. only difference between rodeos and flats is that a flat your feet are equal with your head and a rodeo your feet go above your head.

And misty's and rodeo's are set completely different and look nothing alike.

Flatspin: You throw it almost like a backflip but more on the side

Rodeo: You throw it forward and if you spin left you spin around your right shoulder.

Misty: You throw it forward but more like a frontflip+ rotation

Agreed or not?

fuck... i just had a bunch of shit typed out, but i accidently left the page.

but... Not.

flatspin and rodeo are thrown almost the same, except a rodeo is inverted (feet go above the head) and a flat spin is flat (feet are equal with the head). they are thrown BACKWARDS and to the SIDE.

Haha, yeah I didn't mean the 3 was, just the 5. And that video up there ^ shows flat 5 set forward and to the side, body rotates backwards though.

40 is like a lincoln loop with a 180 at the end. not a true style rodeo, but some people call them rodeos.

Agreed but the fact that you are spinning whilst doing a rodeo makes you spin forward/sideways kinda thing.

rodeo= backwards + up side down, flat= backwards + not upside down, misty = forwards + not upside down.... can't see the difference? start watching ski movies!

People throw them differently. Some people thrown rodeos more forwards, some throw them backwards. As long as it has the basic/key elements to make it a rodeo, then it is a rodeo.

Part of the beauty of the skiing is that no two peoples' tricks look identical.

no no no no no, flatspins aren't like backflips, you're mixing them up with rodeos.

People will call a slightly off axis backflip a flat 3, but flatspin 5+ aren't inverts.

Yeah that's true but you throw a flat 3 the same way that you throw a backflip and if you want it to be a TRUE flat 3 you just throw it less inverted and more to the side but still backwards....I care way too much.

^You're dumb I could teach someone how to do a rodeo or a flatspin, we might just not call the trick the same thing but I can guarantee you that I can do both a flatspin and a rodeo and whatever your definition of both are....I care way too much I'ma go play outside.

You've got misty right. But rodeo, you set it backwards. You can do rodeo and misty different ways. The way you described rodeo is just a really light inverted misty.

second vid is somewhere between rodeo and misty: he throws it forward, but he does not invert.

last vid is deff misty.

flats are just tweaked backies. rodeo you throw to the side, not forward. misty you throw forward, hard

and in the photo... somewhere between rodeo and misty. all misty/rodeo 450s are. when he first throws the flip off the box, he throws to the side, like a lincoln, but he does not go inverted. but to get back to 450 without landing on your side, you have start leading youyr head down, not around. so idk, somewhere in between.

nobody seems to understand that a rodeo/flat spin is set backwards while spinning forwards. the motion of your body is as if you where to lean back but because you are spinning too, it looks like your setting forwards BUT YOU ARENT.

here is a little vid my friend made for a school project that can enforce what i am trying to say. its a rodeo trick tip however most of the rodeos are pretty flat (because i think they look better like that) but it is exactly what a true rodeo is. good day to you all

rodeo... misty... flatspin... fuck, i usually just start spinning when i hit a jump and hope my skis hit snow when i land. i vote we go back to just calling them all helicopter spins.

RODEO and FLATSPIN are extremley similar. only diff is rodeo is inverted and flatspin is well, flat. notice how his feet and head are at the same height, making it flat. if his feet were a little above his head it would be rodeo.

At 1:40 Wallisch does a flat 3 and flat 5 back to back

you can only go truly flat in 5's or greater because you need the extra rotation to bring your feet down, but off axis backflips are still called flatspins
