saw it last night. figured id share my views for anyone thinking of seeing it.
overall, not as bad as I, and probably many others, thought.
Jonah hill was pretty good, Russell Brand was even better, but the standout was actually p diddy. by far the funniest scenes included him.
as far as the writing goes, not terrible. sometimes trying a bit too hard. also, one small annoyance was that the trailer is VERY misleading. the movie contains few of the scenes in the trailer in the same way; a trend I see a lot now which I don't like.
It also seemed they were really striving to create a new "Hangover" but fell short. you can tell they tried to put a few scenes in it that they want to stick in your head for a long while (furry walls for those who have seen it)
probably the only really annoying area was how predictable it was. obviously, it being an "awkward" comedy (similar to superbad, hangover, anything with seth rogen) it has a pretty simple plot, but what was kind of annoying was a sort of twist thrown in (not as much a twist as just backwards writing in the falling action). basically Jonah just does what I personally didnt expect him to do, but it wasn't in any way an interesting or well written twist. I won't go into details and give it all away.
My advice: go see it. its worth it. don't go expecting the funniest movie you've ever seen, but it'll make you laugh a fair amount. not as great as the hangover in terms of pop comedy, but better than say, funny people.

sparknotes: pretty good comedy movie. better most I've seen lately. falls short of the level of the hangover with a few minor flaws. p.diddy easily takes the cake for performance. worth checking out.
post up your own opinions about the movie too, but NO SPOILERS!
