Rainex on a GoPro?

I was filming kayaking the other day and kept getting drops of water on the outside of the housing.
Has anyone tried putting rainex on the outside of the housing so the water doesn't stay over the lens?
or other ways to combat this?

i'm not sure if it is a good idea or not, Rainex is made for glass, but it could be really good if it works

In my 5 minutes of research, I probably read 30 people saying rain-x is good to go.

But the lens cover on the GoPro is polycarbonate, so if you want to be SUPER safe, there are polycarbonate water repellents that motorcyclists use on visors and windscreens.

thats actually a smart idea i've never thought of, i had a couple of shots ruined from drops of water
