its profiling because a white, black, indian or asian person is not going to be suspected to be an illegal immigrant. hispanic people will be.

Not completely true. In my town the Russians are looked at more by the cops than the Mexicans for being illegal.

yet, it is indeed true that a majority of illegal immigrants will be hispanic. that is a fact, not an opinion. so why not attempt to single out the largest group? what would be the point of racial profiling a white person, when a majority of them are here illegal? sure it would be great to find the white people who are here illegally, but the number of illegal white people in america is much lower than the number of illegal hispanic people.

Because teh very fact that you are targeting a single group is racial profiling, and even if it does cut down on illegal immigrants, it is something Dems will oppose, because it involves racial profiling.
