Cliff jumping

So i live way the hell out in Tsawwassen, and im wondering where the best cliff jumping spots are at on the shore? Now that snows gone and suns out it would be dope to jump of rocks and drink beers.

pool 99 on seymour river, go up riverside dr or whatever till almost the end, climb over the chainlink gate. walk down stairs, go thru hole in fence, follow paths upriver.

Lynn canyon on lynn creek. go to the suspension bridge go upstream for 30ft pool. you can also swim down the canyon if the waters not too high. and theres also a pool at the end of the canyon

Grannies on capilano river. i dunno how to explain.

Lions bay. park near the train tracks, walk towards vancouver along the tracks. go down the path to the cliffs. ha

If you go to Lynn canyon you can also jump off the waterfalls right under the suspension bridge. They're pretty hard to miss

Lynn canyon is epic and has an amazing natural waterslide, but i would only recommend going there in august as the water levels are dangerous most other times of the year

Lions Bay used to be the best, but some crazy local took all the toys down and we need to rebuild

Granny cove is sweet, but the water is cold as hell. I like to jumps up by the fish hatchery too

Pool 99 on the seymour river aight but nothing special. cold water.

Buntzen Lake in coquitlam is sweet, but its bc hydro land and they dont like you jumping

brohm lake near squamish is awesome with good cliffs and rope swings, but a huge tree fell in front of the big rope swing two year ago

lighthouse park in west van is pretty rad

there are some cool cliffs near whytecliff park but they are on private property

five points near squamish is sweet

there are some sweet cliffs at brunswick point on the sea to sky highway

there are some dope sand cliffs at the museum of anthropology at UBC

cliffs up at green lake in whistler on the far north east end, cold water

cypress creek is pretty fun to walk and there are some unique cliffs to jump along the way

and there are tons of cliffs accessible by boat all along the howe sound, if you have a boat




please mention any spots i may have not spoken of

^^ whytcliff does have some and im prety sure there okay  to jump on. me and my friends chill out there a lot and have never had any problems.

16 deaths in the last 20 years.

My mom broke her back when she was 17, jumping there. she slipped off something and smashed her back, spent 2 weeks in a coma, and 7 months in the hospital :S.

Shes not to stoked that im goin, but me and some buddies are just goin to the 30 zone because the run off is gunna make that waterfall nuts, and cold.

word up on both accounts.

i don't recommend hitting lynn canyon until august, and some years, depending on rainfall and snow melt, it's not good to jump at all during the year.

at this time of year, i think ocean is your best bet and will have the warmest water. lions, lighthouse, whytecliff, brunswick, etc. anvil island has some sick cliffs too, but you need a boat, and once you have a boat... cliffs are of secondary importance

We went today, i dunno really where. We walked to the twin falls and kinda went lower, there were two nice cliffs.

Ill have pics in a few days but it wasnt to bad, the water is really goddam cold tho.


If you jump down from the twin falls bridge where those pennies are, can you jump from there? the current was mad so we didnt do t but im thinking august you probs could.

Lynn canyon, last august. There may be other jumps around at this time of season, but the sick ones I would only recommend doing in august. The footage of my buddy hitting gateway didn't even get included in this video.

has anyone hit grannies? its been cleared since the tree fell. but there still a decent current and the top part of the tree could be down there in tht pool which aint good.

haha that was me. it was my first season cliff jumping and i got soo stocked on it and created that map. Looks like I gotta add a lot more too it :)

And one place that's pure legit and I haven't heard mentioned is Cultus Lake. yeah it's kinda far from van, but the lake gets bathtub warm super quick, and it's the safest place with the highest cliffs around here. Lynn's gateway is higher, but at cultus you don't have to worry about water levels and currents, and at 80'..most people won't complain.

Hit it twice so far this June. It's fine, some friends have jumped the 55 and that's fine too. The only thing that's fucked is roadgap.

yo can you describe to me where exactly the cliffs for brunswick are? cause i was out there a bit ago and the 2 cliffs i came across one was about 120 feet tall and the other was 8 feet deep, can u pm me a picture or decribes were exactly the good ones are? dont get me wrong im not a pussy i can hit 60 foot cliffs

yo can you tell me exactly how to get to grannys? ive tried to get there but failed... is it possible to get there from the capilano side through bushwacking? also do you think grannys is better then the fish hatchery for jumping? also how do you get to the pipeline bridge 65er? sorry bout the overload...:P im so despret to hit the 55er at grannys tho

i've never jumped at the hatchery but im going to assume that grannies is better.

grannies is kind of hard to explain as to how to get there, so here is my best effort.

the easiest route is as follows - follow the hatchery road all the way to camp capilano, dip into a trail going left where the parking stalls are just down the hill from camp capilano, follow that and go straight through the first intersection, then keep following till it intersects another trail, go left, go down all the stairs and then at the bottom of the stairs just keep walking straight down the steep trail directly in front of you and then you're there. maybe 10 mins of walking in the forest, good luck. and grannies is probably the safest spot to jump listed in this thread. no current, no rocks, deep water. its just fucking cold.

dude i just struck out the second time since i started trying to get to grannies today with a cuple buds, really wanna go there, can i like meet up with u or sumthin at an arranged time cus i know were the parking stalls r and we went down the trail but we kept bushwacking to the left and nevcer found stairs i have a feeling we were sticking up to high on the embankment or somthing i really fucken badly wanna go there tho

the upper capilano river near the fish hatchery is better than grannies in my opinion.
bunch of cliffs near the dam, wood bridge, pipeline pass. yup.

grannies is super hidden in the shade and the water is way too cold for that.
the way to do it is to take an inflatable, drop in at the hatchery and you can float all the way through down to grannies. there are cliffs further down even. i've floated as far down as to be visible from the sky walk. i want to keep going further, i think you should be able to float it out all the way to the ocean but i have yet to try.

dude are there any vids out there of someone hitting the pipeline or the cliffs near pipeline, or the ones near the dam or anyshit around the hatchery other then the wooden bridge? also is there like any 45 to 50 foot cliffs near the dam or hatchery?

my friends dad jumped the pipeline bridge years ago and im sure so have many others, so its do-able. my friend brought a scuba mask when we floated down the river the other day, he scoped the pipeline bridge landing and could barely see the bottom, so its gotta be 14+ feet deep. theres a 55 at grannies so if you're looking for that size i'd say just go for that. theres also another cove a little ways below grannies (access trail is from the first parking lot on the hatchery road) with a solid 40. most other jumps at that cove were too shallow to be hucked at the moment but the 40 was still had a good 12+ feet deep landing.

the advice of exploring the river with a boat was a good idea, but the water is too shallow for sooo many of the rapids right now. one friend popped his boat and had to swim for a ways to get to the next trail exit.
