for my middle school graduation, my parents, uncles, aunts, and grandparents all collectively gave me a total of 300 dollars.

what should i spend it on?

i made a bet with my dad and mom that if i got straight a's on finals and final grades then i would get "something"
somehow the bet spread to my grandparents

300 dollars for a middle school grad? That seems a little much.

But if you need to get a sick ski jacket or a ps3 or something. Maybe ipod touch? iPad? Save the money? i don't know

 middle school finals dont count as even trying. i got all a's every year. then i got into high school. havent had more than two a's since middle school.

i have narrowed it down to a gopro and boots
im getting a job next year so i could get a good discount on boots and save up for a gopro with the extra money
anyone else think thats a good/bad idea?

Save $100 of it, get a job now and work a bit to buy your gopro. Then buy your boots later. This way you have money for the summer, $100 already put away, you get your gopro, your boots will happen, and you have more work experience. This would be your best option, if you can get a job this summer.

Looking back I wish I had done that rather than throwing everything in a old peanut butter jar.

This summer I am thinking about opening one and putting in about 1/4 to 1/3 of my paycheck in there every time I get one.
