hahaha awesome.

the principle was following the kid, and he was clearly up to something. He tried to restrain him, and the kid pushed back so he beat his ass, restrained him, and dragged his sorry ass to the office. Fantastic.

Can't wait til half this site condemns the principle despite not knowing the context of it at all.

the kid struggling also wasn't a good idea. He was probably some punk middle school kid (like some people on this site) who thought he was gonna be some tough shit, then got his ass wrecked.

if you read the article you will see that after the video ended the kid was beaten up further in the office, where the camera couldn't see. he received a concussion from his beating in the office.



do you REALLY think he needed to give the kid a concussion? REALLY? the kid is 14. the principal is probably 40-50. he needs to learn to control himself. i dont care if you think you're all kinda hard core cause daddy spanked you once and you didnt even cry. that principal was in the wrong.

While we don't know the situation, it's still totally past the line. I don't know about Canada's laws, but in America if a principle did that he'd go to jail for child abuse. You can't treat kids like that as an adult, if the kid was truly up to something he should have gotten the school cop to take him to the office or apprehend the supposed criminal. (Assuming there is one, I don't know about Canada)

The situation took place in a middle school- hardly the real world. As far as I can tell the kid didn't cause any threat to the principal (he gave one small shove) or any of the students. Yes sometimes force is sometimes necessary to control a situation but in this case it was not. Did he deserve to have his phone taken away? Maybe. Did he deserve to be punished for shoving the principal? Probably. Was it at all appropriate for the principal to beat him up, resulting in a concussion? Absolutely not.

The principal is supposed to model appropriate behaviour for his students. What sort of message do his actions send to them?

at the end of the day, the guy was still a principle and should be able to handle a cell phone confiscation differently. the school board knows he messed up otherwise they wouldn't have removed him from office. only if the child posed a danger to other student could/should the principle use force like that, like if the kid had a weapon or something.

ahahah no way he got a concussion from that as the family claims.

and what most people don't understand is that that is completely within the rights of the principle or a teacher. they moved him just to make people feel better but they couldn't fire him for that.

well in Canada, and I'm absolutely sure in the US, it's alright to an extent.

read section 43 of the criminal code of Canada

"Section 43 provides that a parent, teacher or person acting in the place of a parent is justified in using force to correct a child that is under his or her care provided that the force used is reasonable in all of the circumstances."

so the kid was going to video a fight that never happened on his phone. principal wanted to take the phone (with nothing on it) away. kid didn't give him the phone, principal tried to take it by grabbing the kid. the kid pushed the principal and the principal took him down. unless Im missing something here, that principal should never have laid his hands on the kid. what the hell is the kid at fault for?

The kid refused to comply and restraining the kid was the right thing to do.

Also, in the article, the parents say the kid is a good kid - 99% of the time the kid is the complete opposite.

^why didnt the kid just give him the fucking phone, hes the principle and since there was nothing on it, he couldnt have gotten in trouble, and he pushed the principle. If you ask me that kid is a dumbass

if you read any other articles on the topic, it says that the principal wanted to take the phone away because the boy had used it to take inappropriate photos of a female student. The fight thing seems like the story the boy told his parents.

that is hilarious. if i was that kid, i'd of beat the shit outa the principal..  that is some child abuse.. that fuckin prinicpal needs to get arrested for that.

it is bull shit he wasn't already arrested and charged with assault on a minor.. BS.  I hope that piece of shit does some time for that un-necesary outrage.

kid probably deserved way worse. fucking little kids these days feel so entitled and have no respect at all for elders or people in positions of authority. The principal used traditional submission techniques to try to get the kid under control and the kid tried to fight back. If that happened and instead of a principal it was a cop, the nightstick would have come out and rained hell. you people that side with this kid must be 12 years old and have no respect for rules or authority. and the parents saying the kid got injured are just trying to fake injuries to set up a frivolous lawsuit.

its strange, i used to disagree with damn near everything you posted....but now i keep agreeing with you on various things. So congrats on being one of the few on here who started with 0 karma from me, but slowly rose to 10.

Anyways, as i said, kid was probably being a stupid punk and the principal wanted no more of it.

And also, even i'm guilty of it, we all clearly just copied how op wrote principal as principle.

He reached over to get the phone as the kid was taking inappropriate pics. Kid pushed him, at that point eh principal can restrain them and take the kid to the office. Kid kept struggling which is why it looked like that.
