One step closer to Ski Halfpipe in 2014 Olympics

Just passing on some info. I will supply links once they come available.

FIS approved the submitting of a proposal to the IOC for the inclusion of ski halfpipe in the 2014 olympics.

At 10:45am local time in Antalya, Turkey at the 100th FIS Congress the delegates voted 118 – Yes / 0 – No / 3 – Abstain to put forth to the IOC to include SKI HALFPIPE in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi Russia.  The IOC will now have the opportunity to accept this suggestion as early as September of this year or as late as July of 2011  !!!  Big thanks to our ski friends in France / USA / Canada / New Zealand for speaking to the delegates of the floor of the FIS Congress.

so cool! personally i would rather see slopestyle in the olympics but this is great news, been wanting our way of skiing in the olympics for a while i always thought it deserved some credit.

Dumont. Tanner. i dont really know any others. Olenik maybe? but i have no idea where he's from. a lot of the other big names are from elsewhere, like Bertoni and Rolland from France. Dorey is from Canada i believe. and of course Jossi, the Kiwi.

i really don't know. its tough to think that tanner would be on top of his game still, with all the injuries he's had. Dumont could potentially still be a competitior. he's just starting to get into the double game so he could potentially have a few years left.

Personally pipe isnt boring. It's just a different aspect of park skiing. I have a lot of respect for the people that really push pipe. Pipe is one of the scariest things i've ever tried, much scarier than jumps and rails, so for them to be doing the same tricks as slopestyle... Credit if you ask me.
