if anyone was watching the tigers game they saw that the runner was clearly out. and it would have been yet another perfect game but the douche bag umpire ruined it

he smirked at the call. if i was in a situation like that. once in a lifetime baseball history and joyce did that i woulda went ape shit and been remembered as the guy who mauled an ump. Oh and the homeplate ump could have overruled the call. and cabrera shouldnt have went for the play. it was 2nd basemans ball

shit that's miserable, just watched it and i mean as things go that's not even close. i don't know if they can go after him more than usual because of the magnitude of the call but he needs to be disciplined.

the call may or may not be reversed, but it will be the strongest case for instant replay....biggest fuck up in MLB history in my opinion since im a Tigers fan...Jim Joyce must of had a death wish...I would not want to be him right now....

This is an interesting case since it was 2out with the Tigers already winning and the game would of been over if the right call was made, not like being in a tied game in the 6th or something with only one out with a blown call....you'd just get tossed for arguing, but this was a GAME ENDING CALL and a robbery at history to be only the 21st perfect game in history...Bud Selig is a douche and prolly wont do shit which is unfortunate

the context definitely makes more of a damning case. I mean talk about an astronomical FUCK UP.

No matter the case, it wasn't a perfect game. Even if for some bizzare reason MLB tried to rectify the fuck up, it just would be incomplete.

That's fucking crazy that basically (all things considered - that was a perfect game) three perfect games have been pitched this year/

that was without a doubt the worst call i have ever seen in baseball, although i was extremely impressed with the pitcher for not getting mad at the ump, i would have punched him out

ump went on to make a public apology, and admit he missed the call, but still, it can't be replaced

this was one of the worst calls that has ever been made in MLB history. To take away the perfect game from Gallaraga is unacceptable and I don't care how many times he apologizes he can't change the call. What is worse is that the first out in the ninth was a simply amazing catch by the center fielder where he ran down probably the hardest hit ball all day and the weakest ball hit in the inning gets screwed up by an umpire on a power trip. You have to know the situation that you are in and even if it is a super close play you give the kid the call in that situation. period.

the whole thing made me sick to my stomach

haha i almost made a thread about this. while its an absolute horseshit call, the ump was in tears apologizing to galarraga (sp?). I dont think he should be fired, hes really well established in the league and just fucked up. the MLB should grant Galarraga the perfect game.

yea it was a really bad call, but he knew he made the wrong call right after... i mean look at him, he just stood there for a few secs, knowing that he had to stick with his call. If he reversed the call, he would have been f'ed anyway.

“I say many times: Nobody’s perfect,” Galarraga said. “Everybody makes a mistake. I’m sure he don’t want to make that call. You see that guy last night, he feels really bad. He don’t even change. The other umpires shower, eat. He was sitting in the seat (and saying), ‘I’m so sorry.'"
