So I've been really on this electronic binge for awhile now, and I find, for the most part, lovers of indie music can also appreciate this sort of thing, so I figured there could be potential for a nice discussion here.
Ps: I despise the term IDM (Intelligent Dance Music, don't even try and tell me that doesn't sound completely pretentious and full of itself) but sometimes its just necessary.
Some of my favorites:
Boards of Canada are absolutely essential electronic
The album Untrue by Burial is great, I highly recommend it. Best listened to in the dark alone to really feel some of the unique sounds in it.
SIlent Shout by The Knife is another great album. again, just really interesting stuff going on in terms of sound and synthesis.
