In a pickle

Ok here is my situation. I have a chance to go to a Pretty Lights/ Chiddy Bang Concert tm and i have my problems to get me there.

1. My mom is being a total bitch about the whole thing and saying I might not be ready for this yet (I'm 19) and has already said her decision is final and "NO" unless I somehow get a ride.

2. The ride ordeal. I have to go to a friend's place to meet him which is 45/50 mins away. I have a truck but just today found it has a gas leak and is out of commission. My mom (queen bitch right now) won't loan her vehicle to me for the day and my dad is gone all day cuz of work. Since I am the opposite direction of where my friend and I are going, him coming to get would be a hassle since of the distance.

I have a little problem. Any suggestions?

put an ad on craigslist asking for a ride to concert.


you might have to have a car ride with a stanger, but it could be fun. at least you will get to go.

yeah no. The guy im going with is actually one of my good friends from college that i never really talked about to my parents. My mom doesn't really trust going with him. so a stranger wouldn't cut it.

the better question is why do your parents still try and tell you what to do, and why do you listen to them? who cares if your mom thinks a ride with a stranger is sketchy, just do it anyways if you really want to go to the concert

i would try to convince her that you are an adult and you can do adult things. have a calm, intelligent discussion about the matter. i dont understand why a 19 year old has to be held home because he might have to to talk to a stranger. just dont eat any candy anyone gives you.

Update: My father got home early from work, which is a rarity and he let me drive his vehicle. This was truly complete luck and now I can go see Pretty Lights and Chiddy Bang tonight. Jea!
Only problem is not getting rapped Twinjibber77 and his candy laced car. I think I can handle that

I feel bad for you. My parents are crazy religious but I never had problems with the stuff I do. I always tell them where im going(mostly truthful) When I'll be back ish, and hit them up occasionally like every couple days or so, at least once a week. Last year I was like hey mom, I'm leaving tomorrow to go to tennesse for bonnaroo Ill be back in a week or two. Or I'm driving to illinois for a festival, leaving in an hour, peace.


You need to find a friend that wants to go, and ride with them, or hitchike. Hitchhiking 40 miles is insanely easy. If your mom bitches, whatever, you are old enough to make your own choices.
