as some of ya'll know, i blew out my knee at the end of february. I ended up tearing my acl in half and a few other things too. anyways... i wanted to comment on something someone mentioned in an earlier thread.
someone said that a braided hamstring was the strongest replacement for the acl. this sounded reasonable to me. But as my doctor revealed braiding a ligament actually changes the stress points and makes most of the graft stronger, but a few points weaker... making a few points weaker is no good, as the chain is only as strong as the weakest link.
I went ahead with using my own hamstring and hope for a speedy recovery.
I had about 5 weeks to get rehabbed before surgery and was able to bike and hike a little before last friday... now i'm in pain again but can put some weight on my knee and do straight leg lifts... sorry, i'm rambling now cuz of my meds... night all.
*all hail to the mighty gods of snow*
