Lighting
“Pay very careful attention to how the light falls upon your subject, and control your light. Make it bend over for you and do what you want it to do. You can do this with speedlights, big lights, flashlights, car lights, cigarette lights, northern lights, sunlight... the list goes on. Just make sure its exactly perfect, as per your artistic vision. – powderbro”

I took this on a hut ski trip, it is a self portrait taken with a self timer. The only light is from my headlamp.
And yes that is in the outhouse
2.
For my entry I used a flashlight angled off of a mirror to get the right lighting on the hat without having a flashlight in the picture. YOu can see where the light is reflecting off the mirror in the very top of the screen.
3.
This is a self portrait. I used a little LED reading light that is hanging from some pipes to illuminate me from above (white light), and the background is illuminated by some already installed incandescent lights (yellow light).

this pic is taken on my kitchen counter. I just put a mirror angled down on a mini custom lambo i painted so the flash of my camera reflected on it

it was coming towards the end of the day at our whaleback shoot and we had one more quick session on the cut out jump. i snagged my camera and took some shots, the lighting was perfect giving a silhouette effect on the skier and bringing out the snow texture with its shadows. No artificial lighting used just the sky

I went to Portland Maine yesterday and there were people playing with fire! Although it looks pretty fake, its almost directly out of the camera.

Shot with 15 second exposure ISO 200 at f/29

This was shot on an overcast day around 8:00pm in a dark stairwell behind a movie theater. The sole source of *noticable* light is coming from above left, from a Nikon SB-26. I used the optical slave mode because my PC cord wouldn't go the distance, so the on-camera flash was up, but I had it dialed back to 1/64 power, so it makes such a negligible impact on the photo that it isn't even noticeable.

Playing around in my friends music studio the other night. Came up with this. Used florescent light on the ground and the blue light is from a neon sign on the wall.

I used all natural light, and just had to wait for the sun to get where i wanted it.
Nothing fancy, just patience.
27.
shot with my new T2i, i just set the exposure as low as it can and put it on monochrome all the lighting came from the sun, probably gunna need to click it.

40.
41.

15 second exposure

Lighting - Profoto Ringflash

The original orientation of the photo is 90 degrees counter-clockwise, aka i was facing down. I fired a speedlite 420exII that was placed on the ground pointing up inside of a 3 sided white box (created a bit of fill) set at full power, background was a black bookcase.
44.
Don't have an external flash, so i made a tube out of cereal boxes and taped it to a light bulb on my roof. Then i set up the tripod and.... tada!
