hmmmm..........well chrome uses 60 mb or ram, firefox uses 115, and safari uses 300....so if ur running a slow computer i guess chrome is the way to go.
Safari crashes on me all the time. I usually have lots of tabs open and it doesn't seem to like that. I actually uninstalled it from my mac. Thinking of giving chrome a go once i find the time to download it too.
chrome sucks so much cock.
and to the people who say firefox gets to clustered with toolbars, you're retarded. You don't need to install those toolbars. My firefox is smooth as shit.
I've never used safari on windows(possible?), but I really dislike Macs so firefox. except I fucking hate everything about firefox so chrome or internet explorer. why's everyone hating on IE?
I'm really surprised everyone is saying Google Chrome. Are you guys on Macs? I recently gave into the hype and downloaded Google Chrome. It was by far the worst browser I have ever used. It wouldn't load pages, trying to watch a video was impossible, and it crashed multiple times within a day. I'm on a Macbook so I know it's a beta but it was too much of a hassle for me to even try to work with it. I love Firefox, I've been using it for years and has yet to let me down. It's fast, loads video fine, and stable. Plus the add-on feature is a huge plus. So my vote goes towards Firefox if you are on Mac.
I also run OS10 on a Macbook with 2gb ram. I just downloaded from the Google site about a week ago. I had multiple pages that wouldn't load. Pretty much every site I visited had some problems, Newschoolers, Facebook, Backcountry, etc. It would freeze and not let me scroll down and say pages couldn't load and I had the option of killing them or waiting for them. It got pretty old when it was pretty much every page. Everytime I tried to watch a video, the video would start for a few seconds then the picture would freeze while the audio kept continuing.
Maybe something happened while installing or something because I have only heard how amazing Chrome is but my experience was horrible. Maybe I'll try it again in the future but I'm pretty satisfied with Firefox as of now.
I will never use anything but chrome in the future, it only crashes when you overload on flash but every browser does that, and it's adobes problem
GOOGLE CHROME FTW
maybe check out Camino if you've got a mac. I personally have never used it but my friend swears by it. Or if you were thinking about putting a decent browser on your smartphone check out Opera mini.
I tried Chrome like a year or so ago, whenever it was in its first version. It was ok, but the drop-down lists were messed up; it wouldn't organize them alphabetically, or in any order for that matter. It had a couple more issues, too, that I can't remember now, so I switched to Firefox. I'm guessing they have probably fixed these issues by now though. Should I give Chrome another try?
Actually, Chrome takes up about 60 megs for every tab you have open because it runs each tab as a separate process, which is why it's so fast. It all depends on how many tabs you have open.
