This summer I am working for a website that a good friend owns called
www.gofishn.com. It's a social marketing platform for sport fishing, and is basically a 1 stop shop for everything related to fishing. There are encylopedia style entries on different species, techniques, and areas, as well as product guides and a social networking aspect. The site is one of the first to fully utilize Facebook's new coding, so everything done on gofishn syncs to its facebook page, and if you are a fan, it can link to your page. Anglers set up profiles and can post pictures, ask questions, and plot points on a fully integrated google earth map of their favorite spots. Professionals in the industry (charters, guides, lodges, manufacturers, etc) get profiles to post news, products, and recent trips on the site. All their activity is linked throughout the site. For example, a striper guide on the chesapeake could post a pic of a recent striper trip, and the link would sync with entries of "striper" "chesapeake" and the technique used. Its really a pretty awesome site, and if anyone is interested in fishing at all, I would really suggest checking it out. I'm not saying this for my job, just because I love the site and want to share it with NS. check it.
