Replying to Torn ACL'S

so has anyone torn their acl and had reconstructive surgery? i need to know what the recovery time is cause the doctors arent really telling me much. has it had any affect on your skiing? torn acl's are a common ski injury so i expect that there will be a large number of ppl who have had this.
