I've heard that as well. Ruud Gillit mentioned it during a pregame, and Alexei Lalas kind of said he didn't think it was a big deal.

Greece are absolutely shocking, I don't think they even deserve to be in the lead.

I agree that should not have been a red card. the ref wasn't in position to see what happened. The greece guy pretty much instigated it by shoving him with the ball and the Nigerian kicked at him but didnt even hit him and the greece player acted like he just got kicked in the balls.

the nigerian still somewhat went after him, which is considered violent conduct. Regardless of what the other guy has done, you can't expect to lose your temper and react like that without getting sent off.

it's the world cup. don't be stupid, and you don't get sent off.

I see what you are saying, but as a ref and at the world cup level, every situation needs its own decision. The Greece guy shoved him first, so they probably should have both gotten a red when it comes down to it.

Mexico vs France is gonna be a huge game. Im getting hyped, looks like its not gonna start for another 30 or so. Mexico is a huge soccer country, they have some of the best dribblers and are deadly near the net. Im rooting for France though.

Still have to tie Argentina somehow but hey, stranger things have happened! Either way, it's a moment of triumph for us a memorable one no matter if we get out of the group stage or not. I'm just happy I got to watch our first WC finals goals and victory. Woooooo!

Also you guys are morons, the ref absolutely had to give him the red. It doesn't matter if he pushed him, it doesn't matter if he egged him on (it looked like they were just battling and kaita lost his head). The dude cleated him in the thigh. Even if he'd missed it wouldn't have mattered, but he did make contact anyway. That's a whole other thing besides shoving and it's always going to be a straight red, and Kaita knew it right away. Had this look on his face like "WHAT DID I JUST DO".

lol im watching the game in french right now, and the commentators are hilarious, these guys aren't just saying whats going on like normal commentators would, they're actually cheering on the french team while theyre commentating ahaha. they'll be like "Allez, allez Ribery, cours, tir!" i fuckin love it.

but on a more serious note, the french defense is starting to scare the fuck out of me, doing sketchy passes and their offside trap is really unorganized, almost fucked them over a couple times

Thats the thing, even in pro leagues, people still screw up. The defense was playing well, they were clearing pretty much every ball. I think they are doing fine.

Dude, Im rooting for the USA when it comes down to it. I like the way France plays, they put up a strong fight. That first goal was offsides if I was calling that game as AR. That penalty was a stupid defensive move. I agree France lost its fire in the second half and they had like no offense power. Just because France lost, doesn't mean they are out yet... tomorrows games are gonna be good too. Mexico played well though, they have a real good defense, damn!

you are an idiot the first goal was clearly offsides and the second was because of a tackle attempt that went wrong allowing a penalty kick. France played well and took some solid shots at the goal they definitely didn't lose the will to play. The only thing i noticed is that Domenech is a terrible coach and the team doesn't work very well together. But neither of those goals were impressive because the first one shouldn't have counted and the second one was a penalty kick which are generally a give away.

Ya i dunno, that coach just sat there and I think I saw him blink his eyes a few times. He really should show more emotion in a game and play the star players more. Ribierry had some crazy good offense movements/dribbles and steals but he was missing another star player to help him out. Seriously, Ribierry is fucking good. I don't know why that coach didn't put in Henry, cause I remember him in 2006 and he is way good. Maybe the coach has something up his sleeve and is just waiting to play him in the next game and not risk getting him hurt. I think they are still in this.
