i hate italy, but most of all, i hate the majority of their fans, they think theyre the hottest fuckin shit in the world, but pretty sure their team sucks and throws themselves on the ground and cries whenever someone touches them

possibly, but i'm amongst the people that believe that don't believe you get to just pick and choose. Maybe later on in the finals when it's down to 8, 4, and 2 teams you can start preferring someone once your team is out, but i don't think you should turn your back on your own national team.

Word I have a French passport and am the first and probably last person in my family who wasn't born in Europe (One of only a few who weren't born in France) I think this gives me the right to support the French team. I don't have tv though so its hard for me to follow football. But I too hate when people start supporting other teams when theirs is still in the world cup.

On a completely different note, I had no idea that North Korea had a soccer team. I'm assuming they suck though. I'm excited to see them get destroyed but fearful of what Kim Jong Il might do to them for losing. I wonder how easy it would be for them to escape during the match it would be funny if they all just ran off the field or went missing before the game. I know I would take advantage of being out of North Korea and just cut and run.

kinda off topic but my dad used to row with some cuban guy who came to the olympics in montreal in 1976 because he was on the cuban rowing team. he never went back to cuba after the olympics and decided to chill in mtl for the rest of his life lol

Yeah, and I'd hardly say they've fallen...they dominated the game, with Paraguay scoring on its only shot. Italy actually played really well, save for all the acting.

I will admit, Italy was playing with good sportsmanship. They were helping the other team up and stuff after a fall and giving hugs, cool to see that. You don't see that in most pro sports. That was a good game. Italy has a good team.

that definitely was not a cramp and there were a few other instances not quite as bad as this one but still dives, its how italy play though they get away with far too many dives

No doubt they dive. they dive a ton (japan dived more though) but I dont think someone who is at all skillful at diving would do that as blatanly obvious, I really think that specific one was a cramp.

yes they are good at diving (practice makes perfect right) but that is what pisses me off the most about the Italian team especially is that they have such a good team that really has no need to dive but they do it anyways, while some of the other top teams work so hard and stay on their feet, and italy ends up winning the world cup. i think that was a bit of a blemish on soccers image, and the reason why so many people who know nothing about soccer say everyone is a pussy and dives. i hope that italy, as well as the other teams who dive a lot (japan, portugal....) really understand that they are playing the beautiful game and for the sake of the game they learn to play hard and not get freekicks thanks to acting.

after the "cramp" the guy was on the ground not grimacing in pain as one would be when they have a cramp but rather yelling furiously at the referee as to why he didnt call a foul. this definitely makes me think that it was not a cramp

im pumped for today's games. Côte d'Ivoire vs Portugal is gonna be legit, this game pretty much determines who out of the 2 makes it past the group stage. and i'm pumped to see how Brazil plays today

This is nothing near a far fetched prediction considering they made Australia look like a high school team. I'm making them a definite to the semifinals. Let's see what they can do from there.

i have watched more soccer in the past 2 days then i have in my whole life. they should drop 5 players on each side and get a few odd man rushes going, couple break aways. its boring as bat shit to watch.

Netherlands was kinda disappointing, I agree, they should' ve just started with wingers instead of going through the middle. Robben trained with the team again today so I think he'll play the game after next game, wich will be awesome. Van Persie was especially a let down, he didn't play very well. That being said I think they' ll keep the same line-up for the next game, wich will make the game against japan difficult again because they will dig in on their own side.

Anyways first game usually don' t mean shit in worldcups, there's a lot of pressure to perform and the tension gets to the teams a lot. Teams need to grow into the tournament. The germans are a perfect example, they never really shine in the first round and start to play better once the group fase is over. That's why everyone was so surprised this year by their first game.

The vuvuzela's suck bigtime btw....
