im so glad that france didnt win. It annoys me how their team is basically the best African players that were scouted to France to play.

tomorrow should be amazing, i went to the last england USA and despite england dominating  there were times where usa were showing a lot of potential, and now they have some more experience they should give us a good game.

Do you even know what you are talking about?  I don't really like the French team much either, but there are only 3 players on the team not born in France.  One of them is Malouda who was born in French Guiana; another is Evra (born in Senegal) and the last is a goalkeeper who isn't even their starter.  So what are you complaining about?

argentina up 1-0 at the half. i hope nigeria comes back to win. mostly because carlos tevez is ugly. although he does cancel out with gabriel heinze, that guy is sexy. man crush yes homo.

god what the fuck was argentina doint. they scored a beautiful goal off that header, and then i thought "oh awesome, now they can sit back and score some goals, rest the stars, have a good time." but nooooo messi had to miss every single fucking shot. seriously he needs to step his international game up

I was rooting for Nigeria, but they could not put one in the net. They need to work on their shooting. Argentina seems pretty good though

they should have been better. messi missed 7 shots i think, including 2 breakaways. they were the better team, and it didnt show in the results.

I just want to say I'm hoping for an interesting match between France and Mexico. France showed that they can stay in control of the ball and barely allowed any shots at the goal from Uruguay now if they can get their shit together enough to actually score, this game is gonna be a fun one to watch.

As for England vs. US, Im calling 2-1 England.

Dang, first USA vs England and I don't know who to root for. Now its Germany vs Australia, the two teams that I would generally root for whoever they were playing against.

.....I guess I hate Germany more, its a tough choice though. Australia kind of sucks though huh?

I have to say I am a little dissapointed with the result in the England vs US game. They both had their fair share of chances, but I don't think anyone could argue the fact that England deserved to win. I'm English and not at all upset with Green, he's a fantastic goalkeeper, but mistakes happen even to the best. I think SWP was the worst player on the field, Gerrard and Johnson the best. Hopefully Capello can sort it out and manage to win the group.

Anyways, who is wakin up early tommorow?

i dunno, those english boys are used to playing in 40 to 50 degree weather. it's 70 degrees down there, i wouldn't be surprised if england starts having troubles later on in the games.

englands goalie was pretty pathetic, there were a couple times where he had trouble keeping the ball. They will not advance far. The whole USA team sucks though.

Its winter in South Africa... its colder than almost every other recently World Cup venue.


I was in South Africa last June and i had to wear a sweatshirt all the time except maybe mid-day if it was sunny.

At least they like him because he is a good soccer player. He, and as a result Portugaul, is my friend's favourite because she thinks he's attractive. Now THAT is a good way to choose a team.

That said Canada hasn't had a team qualify for a world cup in my lifetime, so we do have to choose a random country to root for. Seeing as my family comes from Scotland, England, Germany, Russia, Australia and Ireland I couldn't just base my choice off where my family came from either. I think I chose Germany because they were losing when I started watching midway through one of their games and I have stuck with them ever since because I like their style of play and how they don't have one superstar that you hear about constantly.
