i see holland getting past uruguay into the finals but don't see them getting past germany or spain although i'd like to see it. idk if torres will be starting the next game for spain. regardless, germany is playing at such a high level that i think they're going to win it all. klose has always been in the right place at the right time.

the ending to the ghana-uruguay game was b/s but the guy did what most would have done in the same situation. they should be able to call that a goal anyway, but technically he played by the rules. i wouldnt consider it going too far if fifa suspended him a second game if they were to make the final.

Spain or Germany will wipe the floor with the netherlands. Spain scored on Portugal they can very well get past netherland's "brick wall".

Spain barely got by Paraguay and wouldnt have made it out of their group if Switzerland knew how to score goals.. 3 on Honduras would have said goodbye to Spain.

Germany? I'm expecting them to come back down to earth. England is the most overrated thing ever, and anyone who knows this sport knew that Argentina was probably going to get Blitzkrieg'd with their ever-suspect defensive lapses.

Germany's good, I'll say that... but I think the Dutch will match up well with them, and their matched talent as well as established experience will likely beat them - that is if they are even able to beat Spain to begin with...

but he didn't touch the ball. yeah, you could argue that he interfered with the play. but the ball was deflected twice, and van percie got himself out of the way.

That was one of the best games I have seen so far.

Great opening goals on both teams and Bronckhorst's goal contends for best of the world cup. Pretty lame effort by Robben, awesome header, but anything off his feet was poor. He had a solid 3 chances that should have gone in. Great play from the team though, but I lost a lot of respect for the Dutch from the past two games. It is quite apparent that in the off-season Italy and the Netherlands do quite a bit of Theatre following. That was pathetic. Literally every contact resulted in a Dutch player on the ground.

Can't wait to see Spain and Germany. No Muller for Germany. Klose will be hard to defend but Puyol in the back can usually take care of the big names. I expect Torres to get little time if he even starts and hopefully Lloriente gets put in. Hoping to see a big game out of the midfield for Spain. Xavi kills it every game but gets a little unlucky and I can't see them not putting in Pedro again. Quick as lightning.

Overall I am saying 2-2 with a goal in extra time from Spain (Iniesta).

they werent doing it as much before brazil, and brazil completely let it take away their focus, so why not in that situation. hopefully they'll tone it down in the final.

God dammit, I missed the match today and probably wont see the one tomorrow. I don't have Tivo or anything like that, fuck, I wanna get a recording somehow..... Spain is definitely a dark horse and could possibly beat Germany. Their passing game is unmatched.

Well to be honest, they haven't really played any real tough teams and now they are matched up against Germany which is a soccer powerhouse so I would say they are the underdogs, but like I was saying, they do have the passing game that could tire out the Germans. However, I honestly think the Germans are the better team, fuck its gonna be a good game though! Im surprised Uruguay did so well today too, i thought that was gonna be a blowout.

Spain has a lot to prove in my opinion.  Edging out Paraguay isn't really that amazing...and the ONLY OTHER PERSON to put a ball in the net besides Villa is Iniesta back in group play.  Germany on the other hand has been railing good teams with 4 goal games and half their team have goals on their resume.

If Germany marks Villa well and passes effectively, they will fuck Spains ass all day.  My prediction, can't wait to see this match!

they're they number 2 in the fifa rankings and are fresh off winning the euro cup, where guess what, they beat germany. Spain was definitely a lot of people's pick to win coming in to the cup while the young german talent people were picking to be the team of the next cup but not ready yet for 2010. their lack off competitive teams is like all the top squads, tho they did play a tough squad from chile in round robin play

Paul, from the Sea Life Aquarium in the western city of Oberhausen, chose a mussel from a jar with the Spanish flag instead of one with a German flag.

The two-year-old cephalopod has become a national celebrity.

According to his owners, he has a record of predicting German results.

They say Paul chose the winner in nearly 70% of Germany's games during the 2008 European Championship.

He correctly predicted all five of the team's previous World Cup games - including a shock defeat by Serbia in the group stages.

His prognosis ahead of Wednesday's World Cup semi-final was broadcast live on German TV.
