Ah yes, I just re-read the first part of his statement. But the second part sounds like he is saying many American players are from other countries. While that is partially the case, its just not true.

usa i think will win the next round, only if they play ghana. If they end up somehow playing germany or serbia, they will not win.

So far, despite their results, the USA really hasn't been that impressive and i don't think they have it in them.

Wow Klazo, can you at least have some sort of partisanship.

Every post you are incredibly negative towards the US. You obviously have an underlying problem. Are you mad because they tied England? The US has well deserved that luck after several unlucky calls. I see it as evening out.

If you stopped and thought about what you said. "importing" is part of football. Look at Algeria, half of their players play in French games. "Importing" players should be an argument for several other teams before the US. Grow the fuck up and get some sportsmanship.

With that said, Dempsey better figure his shit out. Piss poor game from him. It's not everyday a ball stops on the 18 with a running start for you only to take a touch and risk missing which inevitably happened. If the US play like they did today and add finishing to the list, they could be a threat to the semi-final. Can't look too much more past that though.

^Agreed. We create a ton of chances, we just need to finish. As far as importing goes, everyone does it. The German team has a bunch of Polish born players, Brazil born players are all over the globe, etc.

We have a chance to beat whoever we face in the next round, whether it is Germany, Ghana, or Serbia we will have to see. If we make it past that then its either Uruguay or South Korea before we enevitably run into Brazil in the semis.

does anyone else think that if the serbia/australia game remains tied towards the end that Germany will let off the gas and take the tie to play the US in the next round? perhaps an interesting wrinkle, stay tuned.

would love to see germany knock england out. but i would be equally happy to see how the usa takes on a bigger side like germany, and how they stand up to it. The USA so far has done well mostly because their group has been miserable so it would be interesting to see.

So proud of Australia and our performance today and the endeavour we showed!!!

NFI why we didn't play this lineup or in this fashion against Germany as in the end it cost us, but at least we know the potential we have and there is no need to be scared of anyone (like we were against Germany).

Bring on the Asian Cup!!

I still havent slept.


Massive world cup party of like 1000+ people in the park wayyy early this morning to watch the match... almost everyone was drinking/drunk/plastered(me)... When that goal was scored there was absolute jubilation to say the least... shit hit the fucking fan.... People were straight crowdsurfing. I've never seen this much love paid attention to for a world cup by americans... i'm so excited for what kinda future this will bring to the sport... just making it this far alone is so awesome

Even if we bow out to ghana next match, I will always be able to remember the absolute hysteria that that goal gave us.. I just kinda wish we had more time to savor it....

What a remarkable finish...

Sounds like a wicked time.

I was in France when they won the cup in '98. I've NEVER seen celebrations to that extent. It was UNREAL.

I really fucking hope it does change. You have no idea how painful it is to sit through an American Football game on television. It is the most god awful boring shit you'll ever see. I wish ESPN would cover the Euro league aside from the championships. Oh well. If we do well in this Cup hopefully things will change. And yeah, I don't think we'll have a problem with Ghana if we start finishing our opportunities. Dempsey needs to get his head on right. Can't afford to hit post and miss wide in the later stages of the tourny. I think we've got a good shot at getting into the semis. Hopefully that dream will be realized.

Maybe, but If you compare this year to any previous year that we've had when it comes to support - this world cup is HUUUGE compared to last time...

Example? Just look at how massive the US contingent is at this year's world cup... Never before have we had so many people at games like this... Maybe in 1994 we did, but nobody knew the rules of the game and were probably just screaming 'SHOOT THE BALL!' every 13 seconds...


I think if the MLS can keep growing like it's been doing, and can keep up NBA sized crowds, like its starting to do... Then just imagine the possibilities come 2014...
