Spain lost to Switzerland. Switzerland lost to Chile.

As of right now, spain sucks worse than both - by default.


That said... beating Honduras 2-0 is pretty pathetic considering Chile's a much better side.

Spain better bring their A game or they'll become france.

I agree. Switzerland was able to hunker down and stop the Spanish midfielders, which effectively shut down their whole offense.

As for the match against Honduras, they definitely didn't play to their potential there either. They had plenty of opportunities that they should have capitalized on, but didn't. Torres also wasn't given much of a chance to get it together. I think Del Bosque should have let him keep playing, because scoring a goal would have been huge for his confidence in future games.

Spain is going to want blood against Spain. I think they could finally play how they need to. They've woken up finally.

For Honduras putting in S. Busquets was kinda dumb but understandable for a couple reasons & starting Jesus Navas over Silva was just plain retarted

If Silva would've started than Spain would've won at least 4-0 in my opinion. Jesus Navas is pretty good but his crosses in the box were pretty awful

spain is going to go clutch for sure against Chile.  They just need to learn to finish.  Torres' injury has messed up him up, but i hope he comes back with vengeance next game.

USA is playing pretty well, I think we need to stop charging when we get the ball, because we just aren't taking them down when we go 1v1, algeria is way faster then us, thats my only complaint about attack.

Defense, not so awesome, we need to work together and just be no nonsense players, if algeria is getting a run, just kick the ball out, dont try to steal it.

How is it any different from any other country?

Mauro Camoranesi is Argentinian, plays for Italy.
Lukas Podolski is Polish, plays for Germany.
Patrice Evra is from Senegal, Zidane was from Algeria.

Those are just off the top of my head.

If the US wins in 2018 or 2020, it will be because of programs like Project 40 and the IMG Academy. Donovan, Howard, Dempsey were all part of the first classes to go through the academy. The amount of soccer being played by kids in the US now is huge, and it is only a matter of time before we will actually be able to compete at a high level.
