Deadbolt 12/15 or Marker Griffon

Im wondering which of these bindings I should purchase to mount on my Line Chronics. I weigh 155 lbs and ski about 90% park. Suggestions?

this. deadbolts are solid they are essentially the same bindings as tyrolia peak 15s and head mojo 15s, great bindings and good price!

no marker schizo's are horrible. i saw a kid rip out his heel piece because he crashed on a 270 out from a 1 foot high pvc pipe

if he ripped out the heel peice,
thats the skis fault ( bad wet wood core), not the binding

No, the Schizo is fragile because it has a lot of parts, which was supposed to make it better, and if you are doing any kind of rails or jumps it could break pretty easily.

Are Peak/Mojo 12s any good. There available super cheap, obviously the 15s are way better but is there that much difference?

ripping out a heelpiece doesn't sound like a failing binding, but more like a failing shoptech who drilled the holes wrong or overtightened, etc....

but that besides, i also heard bad things about the schizo.... concept is nice, but more parts = more parts that can fail....

and deadbolts are bomber bindings! so i suggest you get them....

Peak 12s are really good bindings. Especially for park. You couldn't go wrong with choosing those. I've ridden Salomons, Looks, Rossis, Tyrolias, and the Tyrolia Peak 15s were definitely my favorite.

Yeah i know the 15s are solid but the 12s are different.

The 12s have LD (Light Diagonal) Heel and Toe and the 15s have "Race" Diagonal.

What does this mean though, does anyone have experience with both pairs, Im guessing the 15s have greater retention?

there will never be a "good" 12 din binding, it just can't happen with the din range and materials. now you can find a 12 din that is better then others

px12>griffon
deadbolt12s>griffon
fks120>griffon
vist412>griffon

rule of thumb, dont buy griffons. if you can find a pair of fks120s in BST, get those, if not, there really wont be a huge difference between the other 12 dins on the market(just dont get z12s for the love of god). If you dont ride hard enough to warrant a 15din binding, you wont notice the binding differences. If you ride at 9 or 10, GET A 14/15 DIN BINDING, it will last you longer and will in most cases have less issues.

oh and when people say "oh this binding rips out to much", thats the tech's fault. wood, while strong, isn't all that reliable, thats why alot of techs use wood glue and metal shavings in the holes when mounting, to further increase the hold of the screw. If the tech just pop the screw in and calls it a day, what do you think is going to happen?

yeah ik what youre saying. i ride at like an 8 din and am a pretty aggressive skier so i think ill get the mojo 15s b/c theyre better quality then the 12s

people on here exaggerate how bad they are. i had them on my skis last year, and they held up fine. some people aren't as lucky but you could argue that about any binding.

dude i have shizos and they are a good binding just wouldn't recommend for any serious park skiier because they are fragile. I had them for a day and ripped out the toe piece on a light fall. what happened to this guy with the heel peice is i doubt he ripped it out of the ski but more likely did what i did and ripped the piece off of the track the the shizos are on that allow them to move front and back.

just got some 15's, they are awesome, they are NOT the same as a mojo/peak 15, they are the body of the mojo 18X (full metal heel) with a 15 din spring, probibly some of the beefyest bindings i have ever seen!

Hey asshole, you don't know shit!
Glue is used to prevent water from entering the skis, and nothing else, and that is something that all tech's are using, it won't help shit if the binding is under stress enough to rip out the binding. And you never use metal shavings, you use steel wool, and that is only if you have a hole that is stripped, but that won't help shit in most cases. When a binding rip out it's because of the core in the ski is to soft. Some bindings work better on soft core's and some not so good, all depending on the screw pattern.

^^^this is true^^^, i have seen bindings rip out cuz the wrong drill bit was used. often a 4.1 instead of 3.5 or 3.6 on a ski with no metal in it, or the hole was not tapped correctly.  that would be the only reason to blame a tech

cancel my previous comment about the dead bolt not being a mojo 15, i was comparing it to my older 15 with the pivoting heel, it aprears the newer mojo 15's have the full metal heel... MY MISTAKE
