2011 Blend vs. Chronic Cryptonite

So my current pair of skis are pretty much destroyed beyond recognition, but I really want to go with a pair of lines next year.

I pretty much do 40% All Mountain/Big Mountain, 20% Pow, and 20% Park. Would next years blend or next years chronic cryptonite be better.

Normally I would definitely say the blends, but next year's has a little bit of early rise and a softer flex, so I'm not sure if it would handle some big cliffs with a softer flex. What do you guys think?

sounds like you're skiing at about 80%.
i'd bump up your skiing level to a little closer to 100% before you purchase new skis.

i feel the need to give you some advice.

i think the chronics are the best choice for you because you plan on riding any park at all. blends ski like trash in the park in my opinion.

also, open your options up to stuff besides Line. i'm not going to state my opinion of them here in this thread, but I will say that i think there are other skis that would suit your needs MUCH better than either of the skis you listed.

Blend-zos Benzo... they're not insanely softer and will be your all terrain freestyle tool of choice for sure. Thanks for riding Line!

i have blends and i use them to ski park, powder, and groomers. i think they handle well and can charge hard. with early rise next year and a bit softer flex they will be even better in the park and powder.

Blends kill the park, what are you talking about? Unless you weigh 130 pounds or suck inconceivably badly, the Blends will be great park skis. That's what I used for my park ski for the past two seasons. Absolutely amazing ski, no doubt.

i said in my opinion.

no, i am not 130 pounds nor do i feel like i suck, i just don't want a 15+lbs of ski strapped to my feet when i'm in the park. i primarily ski rails, why the fuck do i need 100 underfoot?

exactly, i don't. plus i will go on record saying that anyone who uses a ski of 100+ underfoot primarily in the park is either:

a) a hipster trying to look different/cool. (examples: hellbents, new lifes, ect.)
or
b) a cheap skibum that has no better skis in his quiver.

shit i'm planning on using some Green Lifes in the park............ might as well start buying some suit vests and some crazy scarfs and start being more poor

Have you skied the chronic cryponites? They're stiffer than the blends, nearly the same weight, and only a few millimeters narrower in the waist. If this dude is going to be skiing primarily all mountain the blend is a way better choice.
