Well, i got into both Boulder and UBC, but I dont know which college to go to. On one hand, whistler is sick and i hear there are some ski areas right by UBC. On the other hand i am an american and going to college in canada might me strang (but i get to drink at 19 legally!) I also have alot of friends that are going to colleges arond colorado.
Any tips
help, the deadline is coming up soon!

Don't know anything about Boulder, but UBC is pretty sweet. Amazing campus, great school, and good times. How can you go wrong when your campus has its own nude beach and you're 1 1/2 hours away from whistler?

UBC for sure dood, vancouver is the greatest city on earth...u have whistler, local mountains (grouse, cypress, seymour, hemlock), u're close to the interior mountains, tons of backcountry, and u're right on the ocean which comes with all sorts of fun stuff. plus van city is the shit!

I know boulder students get a killer deal on lift tickets, but how about UBC? Can you get good deals to the local mountains also?

well, i would say a desiding factor would be tuition. Boulder is like 30,000+ out of state, what is UBC at? if money wasnt an problem i would choose UBC. just got back from whister. amazing skiing, better then anything in colorado, better backcountry. drinking 19, pot is better cheaper and people are more reasonable about it, but boulder is basically a so called hippie town, just as much if not more bud. so if education isnt a big desiding factor, go to UBC. But then agian if you got friends going to boulder, i say you cant go wrong with either choice, just look at money being a desiding factor.
On a side note, i have also been looking into Utah just because its like $10,000 out of state and i cant afford the 35,000 for boulder

with housing and everything, us 'international' americans pay 20-25 Gs ... i think thats right. seasons pass to whistler is $370 canadian... which works out to 250-300 depending on the dollar. most people wind up living off campus here, and its pretty expensive most places i guess.

If you're wondering about the quality of education for some inexplicable reason, BC is ranked as the #35 university on the planet. I don't know about Americans, but I pay under $5000 Canadian in tuition. The work is pretty hard, but most of the profs are really good. Whis season passes are cheap, bars and drinking opportunities are plentiful, and whatever the CU kids tell you, there's no better skiing anywhere on this continent. Besides, I live here. What more do you want?

yeah i'm at boulder, 320 for a pass to vail, breck, keystone, a basin, and beaver, then you can pay 200 more for a copper/winter park. and you can and will party your ass off. the schools a shitload of fun, really surprisingly active (ski/snowboard, biking, climbing, skating and whatnot), and there are more hot girls in one place then i've ever seen in my life.

if you are going to college in order to be able to ski then you should go to the university of utah. you are 30 minutes from alta, snowbird, park city, brighton, and some of the best bc for building jumps. also salt lake city is a mecca for hitting rails. oh and the U of U is SO much cheaper than CU boulder. and the party scene is good. at least it is if you party. you can find things to do. the doorms are the best that you will find at any school seeing as they were where the olympic athletes stayed. Also it is central to most of the other ski areas in the west so trips are easy.
JUST TRUST ME ON THIS IF YOU WANT TO SKI GO TO THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH!

I'm another UBC student and strongly considered UC Boulder. If you want big crazy college parties and drunk girls go to Boulder. If you want better skiing, cheaper (about 20,000, I'm from the States), and the most amazing city with beautiful woman, beaches, mountains, and your dollar goes further here- choose UBC. It's unreal plain and simple. I'm up at Whistler at least twice a week and have plenty of time for school work, beer, girls, and more beer. Plus Canadians are the shit!

you know, you could get a full degree by corrospondance freom Athabasca University. They have like 30000 students. then you can live where ever the fuck you want to live and ski whenever the fuck you want to ski.

CU for good skiing awesome parties and hot ass girls. UBC for AWESOME skiing im sure there are good parties and im sure there are also hat girls. its a fine line between them. in my mind. im sure that the snow up around UBC is way better than up in summit county (colorado) so if it were up to me i would pic the cheaper one.

Why does everyone who skis go to boulder? Honestly the ski is not that good of a skiing school, sure its close to 'mountains' but I-70 resorts suck if you are looking for real skiing. Plus ive met so many fucking rich ass hippie posers that think they are the shit at boulder. I dunno I dont like the scene there..
