what kind of jackets and pants do ppl wear?

i got a special blend jacket and four-square pants

i heard that most ppl wear Orage stuff cut its like the only ski clothes brand.

Jib_This, orage is high quality stuff, and it has some sick designs. its not priced any higher than anything else at the same level, so its definitley a good choice.

Why HH and Burton? Eazzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyy:
Helly Hansen is, for the money, hands down the best jacket made. 3 ply Helly Tech has only failed to keep me dry once, and it was during a downpour at Whistler. My friend's top of the line Orage? It gets soaked when it snows anything worse than dry interior powder. And if it's not snowing, it's wet because it's not nearly as breathable as anything else out there. As for the Burton pants, well, they're sick, hella comfy, very well designed, and cut properly, which is to say baggy without excess amounts of material where you don't need it. They've got just enough pockets perfectly positioned right where you need them, and dammit, they look amazing.

This being said, it continues to amaze me that no one has designed a nice 3 ply goretex jacket that isn't $600. Goretex prices have dropped significantly, and are at a level now where the stuff's actually affordable. The markup we pay on outerwear is RIDICULOUS, and I'm sick of taking it up the ass everytime I buy a new jacket. Hunting catalogs have tons of goretex stuff for cheap, so why don't snowsports outerwear companies follow suit? If Orage were to take the lead on this and do it, I'd buy their product in a second.

Fair enough. From your earlier post I had gathered that you had something against Orage because people were only buying it because it was 'cool' and because they are 'core'.

I have an Orage spring jacket that I'm happy with. Im also not one to be too fussy and critical about equipment period, as long as it does a half decent job. So basically, I buy from who seems to support me/us back. In AB last year and the year before, they gave us non FIS members a chance to compete by being the title sponsor of basically our only comps. Unfortunately, they pulled out this year. So that is basically my reasoning.

We have helly hansen outlet near here, so I go there if I'm looking for new gear. It is always worth it to wait for things to go on sale unless you really can't wait.

Orage Vital jacket, Burton Trinity pants.
Next year I'm getting those urban camo pants by Orage...don't remember what they're called.
Yeah, Orage is sick, this is the best jacket I've ever had--but my Burton pants are holdin up nicely too and they're damn hot. :^P

quicksilver pants I sliced open on the coping of a box at sierra during spring break, and a SWEET DC jacket. Its cool... the jacket that is... cuz its got an audio pocket for my ipod.
