Replying to Dreamweaver Help

So for my web design final website, i decided to take the slicing route, which is turning out to be more of a hassle then anything. I've got most of the kinks out, but i still have the problem of my vertical navigation bar getting distorted and moved around. Unfortunately my teacher doesn't really know what hes talking about, and i don't want to start the whole project over with. I cut out a "filler" toward the bottom of my bar, hoping that would be able to be used to fill in gaps, but i can't figure it out. Anyone have a solution?
