Holy shit actually you are right it is FWD......IDK why I thought it was RWD thats weird, huge mistake. I couldn't find one around to even test drive though so I've never been behind the wheel of one, I just hear really good things about them.
Also a Volvo C30 may not be technically the same as the GTI at all, but as a GTI owner who has driven a C30 a few times, I think they are extremely comparable. The drive is very similar.
And to whoever asked who told me the evo was better, I told me it was better based on experience. And then Top Gear agreed with me so that worked out nicely as well. I think they put it well in their episode "back in the day you would buy the Evo if you only cared about lap times, and the STI if you actually wanted to own the car and live with it. Nowadays, the Evo is best at both of those things." Its also got some really cool computers on it although that sort of thing usually isn't really my cup of tea.
I was also talking to this dude that works for Toyota this one time who was telling me that you could technically get an AWD Matrix with Toyota's bigger optional XRS engine (2.4L? That might be the standard one) but realistically you only see AWD MAtrix's in certain states and the chance of them putting the bigger engine in it are pretty slim. Would be cool if you found one though, I've always sort of liked how those cars look.
