damn, that was really sick!

i've always wanted to travel to alaska. my mom's friend fishes in the bering strait, and works as a volunteer patroller at alyeska. my mom goes at least once a year, and raves about how beautiful it is, especially in the summer when the sun is out all day and night really.

I liked the the trailer it just dosnt portray Alaska. that could have been shot anywhere and you wouldnt know the difference. You dont need money you need sleds which if im not mistaken there were more shots of them unloading and roosting then actual skiing... ill be happy to never get on this site again because there are very few people on here who actually know what skiing really is. go hit some more rails.

did you ever think that 'their' ak is different from 'yours'? maybe where they live in alaska makes urban much easier than big mountain. or maybe they thought this trailer would appeal to ns better because of what the majority of the community prefers in a ski movie.. and like i said, there was a one big mtn shot, which was pretty damn impressive, as well as a few bc jumps. plus, this is logan imlach, the superunknown winner. if you haven't seen his vid, it has a few pretty good pow lines in it. for the record, i prefer powder to park, but thanks to where i live, i don't ski it as much as i like

you have no idea what it takes to sled to those lines you see people heli skiing man, i spend 2 weeks in haines sledding this season, and i sled all the time around juneau where i live, the weather and terrain is so gnarly and unpredicable and shit always goes wrong, just getting a couple lines in is a very sucessful day, let alone filming them from a good angle with good lighting, good lighting haha.  you may think its as easy as riding a sled up a ridge and dropping in... not even close.  and lets not forget when you are out doing that stuff, there is no one around who could help you, you have to have your shit together and its rare for things to fall that into place. soooooo many factors come into play you have no idea.

and if you think you dont need "money", you need sleds.... haha youve never owned a sled obiviously!

And I presume you know exactly how to portray "Alaska?" Wait and the Blue and Gold train in the opening...Could have been shot anywhere right? Correct me if I am wrong here, but would YOUR ALASKA be how ever the fuck you want it? We live here and make good of the beauity we have been given. Everyday. For the record, Sleds are not cheap either. (In comparrison to a heli trip, exempt-longevity.) And dear Mr. I love to act hard via internet, and state I would be happy to never be at this site again, Your back, damn you must be at least half ignorant.

I wish people that think they know what our seasons consist of, would come ski with every last one of us. (Oh wait, that would be expensive)

Is HattedbyU supposed to actually be "Hated"?  I didn't read the whole thread, but I thought the edit was sick. 

We've all seen an Alaska segment in a movie.  We've all seen 10 of them actually, and we all know hot redundant it gets.  The point of this movie seems it.  It's "My Alaska" (their's)... so we'll see Alaska how THEY experience it.  It's not called "Sage's Alaska" or "Your pereption of Alaska".  It's their Alaska.  I'm stoked.

I can't tell if you're trying to be a dick or just completely ignorant. 
I've not been to AK, so I don't know the terrain exactly, but I've talked to a ton of people who go there and they rarely mention how it's epic waist deep powder.  If you want to see people skiing waist deep powder just watch any 40 year old dude's Go-Pro footy from his weekend at Alta.  I feel like from what I've seen from AK it's more about technical terrain and not the greatest snow on earth.   I think I remember a segment in TGR's movie last year where they were blown away to have waist deep snow in AK.  The whole focus of that segment was how it's such a rarity to get that good of snow. 

You keep claiming you're over this site.  Obviously no one likes your negativity.  Just leave, or accept that THEIR Alaska might just be different than YOUR Alaska.

You missed the whole point of this movie. These are kids who have no budget who ride what they can on their days off from school and work. Alaska is big and spread out it takes hours and sometimes days to get to places to ski or snowboard your so coveted back country lines, and as one of the riders in this movie i know that when we do make it to these spots when the snow is good the last thing we really wanna do is film. We don't have a designated filmer, Just one camera and we take turns filming each other Just a bunch of friends having fun doing what they love and capturing it on film. How about instead of talking all this crap and being negative you make a movie called "My Crested Butte" and well see how entertaining that is. Or heres an even better idea, why dont you quit trying to be an internet thug and get your self an education and learn how to spell simple words like "portray" sound good?
