I used to have a similar attitude towards it (being a skateboarder) then some friends took me cruising/bombing hills for a day and the next week I bought one. Way better, smoother, less effort than a skateboard. They are better for transportation.

Just try cruising on one its so smooth. Bombing hills is a great rush, and just cruising whipping out tight turns feels great.

i think longboards are stupid as fuck, whats the point, i can understand why someone would like one for getting around town, but to longboard as a hobby is retarted, like what the hell do you do? YO BRO LET'S GO RIDE DOWN SOME ILL ASS HILLS BRO, seriously its stupid. This douchebag in my class got one and is showing it off and bragging while nobody cares, so that adds to my hate of longboards.

To break the speed limit on a skateboard and scare yourself so much that when you step off the board at the bottom your legs feel like jello. To bail hard and walk over to your friends bleeding profusely and grinning. To realize that security guard is your old buddy from highschool, and he just wants to watch you bomb a hill.

Also pretty legit for skating down to the store for smokes, walking your dog, cruising the boardwalk at the beach, or getting wasted somewhere and then skating home instead of driving like a responsible human being.
