Its kinda creepy how they keep all of your conversations and everything. Also anything you do say/post is available to anyone. I recently deactivated my account. How do you feel about this?

Facebook is ridiculously sneaky. In their Agreement that you sign when you sign up, you say that whatever you put on facebook is owned by Facebook. Facebook literally backs up all pictures and other information you put on it. Companies will then pay money to do background checks on potential employees to see what their like. Even if you delete something, it doesn't mean its completely gone. Once you upload it to facebook at any time,it is there forever. So be careful.

Did you forget to put "no homo" on purpose?


If that is not the case then I think it is totally okay dude. If I was to come out of the closet I would do it on NS too surrounded by like-minded people. Or maybei you just think the phrase "no homo" is extremely childlike which is where I completely agree with you.

your karma is skyrocketing, im pretty paranoid about facebook. I deactivated it so long ago but it has been in the back of my mind because it says when you deactivate all you have to do is sign back in. Now its gone (in 14 days)

i saw an article on the news the other about how everybody is really angry with facebook and its policies. I also heard that facebook is going to make people pay for their services in july. Can anyone confirm this?

I wouldn't see why they would make people pay, so many people would leave and they would lose tons of Advertising. I think they make it so hard to leave so you have all your info on facebook and so they can sell a lot of advertisements, they wouldn't want to get rid of people by charging after they have worked so hard to get the population on facebook in the first place.

Facebook makes so much money on advertisements it is incredible. It would be unsensible to make people pay. But I dont really care because I'm not a user anymore.

Sorry for the Double post but also this website with the diagram I found very interesting, it just shows how un-private facebook is getting and it not wise to put your info up on it. Since people want new things they add them but with new things come new risks. If you want all your friends to see what you are doing today the rest of the Internet can easily find out as well.

having a facebook is not a bad thing.

If companies check yours, and you post GOOD things that companies like. youre even more likely to get a job if they check.

One last thing to add, you might not know this but when you add an application, take one of those quizzes, or play farmville you are really giving all your info to the creators of those things, interesting thing to think about when you go browse stuff you have allowed.

dude, so what if they take the basic info and generate more appropriate ads tailored to you? What the fuck do you think newschoolers is? the only difference is by logging onto here they already know what kind of shit you're into. Also, there are many privacy features you can turn on to prevent employers / parents from seeing compromising pictures of yourself. If you're too stupid to figure them out, then too bad I guess.
