First of all, I think kim jung il might have died already and now they have some guy that looks a lot like him posing as him. He had some sort of medical condition awhile back that probably killed.

Regardless of who's leading, they've made a lot of threats and have basically carried none of them through.

N. Korea will be the cause of WWIII.  They are crazy and have a military of about 6,000,000.  The U.S. has a military of about half that.  But we got the nukes :) and i hope they haven't found out how to make 'em

Yikes, hope this doesn't go anywhere fast as our military is stretched pretty thin already.

I had no idea north korea actually has subs. Isn't their country riddled with poverty?? Guess their batshit leader has his batshit priorities in line.

Well thats the problem. The country might be in a really shitty economy and political state, but if he wants something done, it gets done, regardless of if it costs money or how many people die in the process. So if he wants an arm, he gets an army of a bunch of crazy Koreans who think he's a god.

what's is even worse is that we(US) have a president now that has NO MILITARY EXPERIENCE.... so if obama attacks north korea with south korea because we are allies, we will be forced to aid from food and money to troops which we don't really have and if he doesn't attack with south korea we are going to lose allies. pretty much if south korea attacks north korea anytime soon it will be a huge ass mistake on their part and our part for letting them.. plus we are gonna be in 2 wars at once and it's gonna mean more soldiers..so it's pretty much bullshit what's going on. World Peace <3

Well, luckily enough I have dual citizenship to a country noone cares about. Though I live in NYC, and if nukes did get launched, we'd be the first to go. At least I don't have to live through the nuclear apocalypse.

I wouldnt worry about them attacking us, they have no technology to bring a fullscale battle to US soil. South Korea would be fucked though, if fullscale war breaks out with NK, people have to be prepared to pretty much erase NK and their people off the map.

we're not stretched as thin as you might think.

Trust me they've been planning for it already.  When I went through SUT in Q course they had situations based on a Korean Environment. 

Our instructors also were telling us the things people hear on the news are YEARS old sometimes when it comes to military, when its beyond death of soldiers.  They only get released to the media as they become declassified and the required security clearance is lowered.

Korea won't be a ground war as much as it would be surgical.  They will use Air and Sea predominantly.

For ground forces the teams will be small and all Special Operations for the most part.  SWCC/Seals from the Navy, Marine Recon, and Army Special Forces and CAG.

This is assuming anything even happens.  The good news is China is pretty neutral on the situation.

The Army's and Marines numbers are actually up a ton!  They had there best year of recruiting ever last year and are even overfilled in some units.

you realize the president just gives the order to invade, after being heavily counciled and helped along by his military advisers right? and then after the order is given, the people in charge of each branch of the military are the ones who actually orchestrate the assault.

so, while it is nice to have a president experienced in war, so he knows the risks and what he is sending people into, it is not entirely necessary.



oh. and fuck north korea. bitches need to chill the fuck out and step the fuck back, befo some fools roll up in they shit and start bustin off heat like a motherfuckin thermostat up in that bitch.

well how fucking stupid are you? you do know that the president doesn't personally research every issue in the world and personally make decisions based on that. the president has these neat people called advisors to do that for him and present the situation in a manner that the president can make whatever decision he feels is best, all the while giving their own input on the matter. before you open your mouth, you should ask yourself, "do i really know what the fuck i'm talking about?" if you cannot answer that with a yes then don't open your mouth. if you still open your mouth, pray that someone stuffs it with a cock before anything embarrassing comes out.

they wouldn't do anything rash, considering jong il won't be alive for 10 years max from now. i think they will wait to see what happens after wards and consider their options. his son already said that he has no interest in following in his fathers footsteps.

nk has a low yield nuclear bomb, which can still cause damage if say, you put it on a fishing boat and cruise it into a japanese harbor.

sk economy is thriving and don't want to do anything that would jeopardize it.

and last, but not least, nk has the largest artillery force in the world, mostly trained on sk captial seoul. it would arrive with little to no warning and cause terrible damage to the city.

so hopefully you have all learned a little.

Nothing will change with the death of Kim Jong-il. The technical leader of the country (considered a god) is Kim Il-Sung. The people are so brainwashed, including the leadership, that nothing will ever change with out another war.

I am not advocating war, but the real problem isn't NK it's China. With out China's support they would have no connection with the outside world and would crumble.

Can't really do anything right now though. It's a catch-22. But it is not ok for them to launch torpedoes and just get away with it.

I seriously doubt that we would nuke them.  More likely we would launch upwards of a couple thousand predator missiles at strategic locations like we did in the invasion of Iraq. 

I do agree that it's about time we stopped tolerated North Korea's shit.  To let them escape this situation with a slap on the wrist would be appeasement, the same strategy that led to World War 2.
