5 days in southeast Canada, what to do? +k

Grandpa is taking me anywhere I want in non-maritime, southeast Canada, not sure at all where to go. We initially were gonna go to New Brunswick (why? not sure) but then he hurt his foot and doesn't wanna drive over 6 hours, so he left it up to me. Anywhere in southern Quebec/Ontario. He's leaning toward Montreal. I like the sound of it, but I figure while I'm up there I'll do some hiking/fishing/more outdoors type shit, its pretty beautiful up there I guess. We need a place that balances woodsman with intellectual well.
So just share the dopest spots in the provinces, thanks fools

Montreal is a legit party city, nice atmosphere in the vieux port area but other than that i dont really know what you guys would do over there. quebec city is older and its a really nice city. you said you wanna do some fishing and outdoors type of stuff, then maybe you can check in the parry sound area in ontario, its like cottage country and there are a bunch of lakes and shit, its a nice place. toronto sucks so dont go there ahaha

and i guess if you go to montreal you could go to the saint-bruno park on the south shore to do some hiking and whatnot

well if your lookin for the city explorin type deal you can check out toronto, lots of cool stuff to see there (queen street, cn tower) then you can drive about an hour and a half north and hit gravenhurst for the cottage lifestyle. really really nice up there.
anything north of orillia is pretty well cottage country.

haha, interestingly enough, I'm gay, and I'm going to travel (i.e ride the rails) when I graduate. perfect!

So Quebec City seems awesome, I'm thinking:
1. drive to montreal
2. stay in montreal for 2 or 3 nights
3. drive to QC
4. stay for 2 or 3 nights
5. leave

what's the best shit to do in those cities? Any "must see"s or favorite restaurants/museums?

go fishing.  we have a cabin in SE quebec, there's good fishing there.  if you skate, ive heard that montreal is a good skate city but i doubt youll be doing that with your grandpa

i can hook you up with places to see in mtl, including restaurants and everything, i just need a general price range or budget for each thing, cus i could send you to some fuckin fancy restaurants or something not as serious

honestly, when you're in montreal, go to the vieux-port (Champ de mars metro station) and just walk around. depending on what you wanna do, you'll find anything there, whether you want a bar to have a drink, or a restaurant, you'll find plenty of them, and its the nicest place in mtl, it reminds me of france or something.
and i dont know anything about quebec city, i was young when i went, but obviously walking around the plaines d'abraham is nice

how can you honestly put gibbys and la cage aux sports in the same sentence?! la cage is decent for hockey games, but their food is all frozen!

anyways, id say either montreal or quebec city. there's lots to do in each, but something tells me going to montreal with your gpa might be a little bit different than what i had in mind... lol

quebec city has a crapload to do as well, and it seems more appropriate to go with your grandpa. quebec, in general, has a crap load of lakes and cottage areas to get your outdoors thing on. hiking ste anne or le massif would also beat hiking sauveur (maybe not tremblant).

so, like i said, if you were going with a bunch of guys and were wanting to party hard, id say come here. but in your situation, do quebec city!

I always go there when i come up from Connecticut. Gibbys is awsome, but really expensive. And i go to La cage before i go to the habs game!

Only thing I know about Brunswick is I eat madddd kippered herring by the can from there. Delicious!

QBC is looking like my best bet. 7 hour drive, but its all through the entirety of the Adirondacks. Unbeatable. I think my grandpa would really appreciate the history aspect (he's mad into history/culture/politics/the commonwealth, and he loves to drink).
I wish it was just me a little bit though, sounds like MTL is party city

check out the more modern resteraunts just outside the wall of old quebec. the ones inside the wall are great too, but most are much older. theres a great creperie near the mausoleum i think.. might be wrong. make sure you don't go on top of the wall and keep going though! worst mistake ever. you'll get super lost and end up at the citadel.

other than that, check out the water ramps at le relais if you have time. only 20 minutes away from QC
