are you serious? every skater knows that bmxers ruin parks. bikes have projections that can cause damage to ramps. when you bail on a bike, the heavy bike, often times, comes crashing down pegs first. skateboards are much lighter and 100 times less likely to cause any damage. even when bikers aren't bailing, they are grinding the rails with their hard, metal pegs and chip and damage rails much faster over time because they generally hit rails harder, faster, and with more weight.

what about those water fountains?

Lol, at ignorance. If your ramps are built right there's no problem. If you have singal layer ply and big gaps between supports anyone's feet or anything could destroy ramps.

This park red planet opened up a few hours from me in like 05. They filled this place with an awesome settup. Had some sections divided up a little bit like most good parks. The bmxers mostly stuck to the big 1/4s, box jumps, wallride, the skaters mostly hit the mini and wedges. Everybody got along awesome, never any problems.

i hate trying to skate with a bunch of BMX'ers mobbing in a train through the bowls. not sure what the scene at steamboat is but it's damn annoying around slc.

and yea, bikes ruin parks. pegs and pedals are deadly.

sorry geoff, but being a former park rat myself, bikes do tend to put a number on a park. and then with all the rad bmx'rs you get all the rad dads with there rad kids coming in with training wheels fucking up your groove.

lol at your ignorance. i cant believe we are even having this argument. any skater will tell you that bikes ruin parks. it doesn't matter how many layers or how many supports. bikes ruin parks period. a 180 pound guy on a 35 lb bike landing on pegs or the cranks will destroy any ramp over time. you shouldn't be making this thread when you have no knowledge whatsoever about skateparks. spend some time with real skaters and ask their opinion before you start a thread that will ultimately screw them over.

shut the fuck up. bikers have every right to enjoy the pleasure of  a PUBLIC skate park. once all the skaters pool their money and build their own skatepark, then can close it off to whom they desire, until then, while everyone is paying for it via tax dollars, anybody and everybody is allowed.

i think it's ironic because skaters used to have the same plight when they were practically and still are forbidden to skate almost everywhere. you knew and know how it feels, so why inflict this discrimination on someone else?

Actually it does. If your ramps are made properly with a couple layers of play, good supporting, and coping, they can take a beating. Like I said I have been to many indoor parks where bmxers and skaters are there everyday, all year. No problems, and the ramps are in great condition. People get along fine. And the one park is a ton smaller than what I'm assuming you're getting. Crowded on weekends in the summer and still no problems.


So seriously get out.

nah they bitch still bout rollerbladders bikers etc. to be honest i used to skate and its not that bmxs are bad or anything but they get in the way, theres all ways for accidents and bmxers can be alot harsher on a skatepark. i dont know where this skatepark is or what its made out of but if its wood bmxers tear that shit up.

i voted yes for it anyway.

Shut up already with your expert skate park builder comments, you're fucking retarded if you think the park is going to be made of wood features. It seems like your experiences are limited to a neighborhood park where they plopped a couple ramps on an old basketball court.

Bump and lol at someone being a douche. If it's concrete you don't even have to worry about anything for the most part. I was saying he probably rides some hood ass park where your feet go through the ramps when you're skating it.

And actually I've been to parks all over the place, we don't even have a local park here, I used to drive all the time to different parks. Fuck your couch dumbass.

You're wrong, it's an even bigger problem when concrete starts to crack, especially somewhere with daily freeze and thaw, you can't just replace a ply.

I'm 21. I've had a license for a long time. For years before that the kids I biked with were mostly older so we carpooled to the parks.

As for the  daily freeze and thaw, where the fuck do you live. Seriously, bike don't fuck up skateparks, and if it's tax dollars everyone should be allowed.
