As much as I hate the smell of smoke and seeing my beautiful white snow turned to a chew stain,
the resort owner has the right to make this decision to allow smoking or not, not me or the government! I believe in a free market! Remember that, all of you who voted for hope and change!
Admittedly, I haven't made it through the whole thread, but this gets my vote for best reply. It definitely seems like the Tobacco Industry is trying to figure out a way to side step MSA and appeal to the younger demographic.
My family originally came from North and South Carolina. My mom grew up right next to the RJ Reynolds Estate in Winston Salem. Her mother (my grandmother) died of emphysema. Now my aunt, my mom's older sister, has it, and she hasn't smoked for probably 30 years. I smoked in college and chewed Skoal for years after school. Nicotine is a powerful and highly addictive narcotic. Smoking or chewing may start as a choice, but it quickly turns into an addiction. Even when you are determined to quit, it is really hard to do. The only thing that worked for me was acupuncture.
I do not think that the tobacco industry should be allowed to advertize in print or online to anything that has a predominately young demographic. Since Freeskiers' readers for the most part fall into the under 21 crowd, tobacco products should not be advertized in Freeskier. Sorry, but the advertizing dollars just aren't worth it.
