I can get a pair of Scratch BCs for the season coming up, but I have to order them now. I have never ridden them, I dont personally knw anyone on them, and no-one is going to demo them in Australia. But, they sound like a sick ski, and I want them soooo much. Would you guys get them? Or hold off until you tried them?

I dont know whether its a good deal or not, its about $1000 US with bindings, mounted, delivered. Its a shitload of money, but no-one else will even try and get them. I dont want to get them from overseas, just in case I get screwed.

that doesn't sound like a deal to me at all, but I don't know the market in austrailia. I think you can get those, plus bindings mounted for no more than $700 in a shop here. So I think that is a bad deal.
go to www.telemark-pyrenees.com You can get Head Mojos (awesome ski) with rossignol Power 120 bindings (with a wide brake) for $800 Austrailian dollars, shipping is like another $60. That is a waaaaayyyy better deal and a much better ski. Check out that place.

yeah thats a shitload of money. id look into some other options. however, as far as the buying skis without demoing them, i do it. i dont have to opportunity to demo many of the types of skis id like to ride, so i just buy em and hope for the best.

I can assure you that the the Scratch BC is an excellent ski. You won't be disappointed performance wise.
About the price: You're not getting a deal, unless Aussie prices are just ridiculous. I got my Scratch BCs for $400 canadian plus tax, and my S912 Ti bindings for $200 with tax. That's $660, mounted. Look around, and call the guys at Corbetts (www.skiandsnowboards.com) to see if they can hook you up with a deal. they're good people, in Oakville, Ontario. Them or D-Structure. www.d-structure.com. Good luck.

i think most people buy skis without demoing them since the only skis most stores demo are either 1080's or mad trix

My brother just got brand new 2004 Scratches with P10 bindings for $350 mounted and everything. Shipping from US to Australia cant be more than $150. I would say $1000 is a rip off.

^ Yeah shipping to Australia is about $70 US, then there is a little bit import tax I think. By the sounds of your getting smoked on ths deal.

Another thing. The Scratch BC is a very wide ski, made for the backcountrey and with australias limited powder dumps, I think you should be going for the FS.

naw, I'd go for the BC all the way. most of rossi's riders are rockin the BC in the park anyway, they say it's a way better ski.

I cant seem to find anyone who has the skis for the prices you guys are talking about, they are all about Aus $800, plus $150 shipping on the websites you said, which works out to the same price as I get here. If you guys find specifics of these prices, please message me and let me know.
And rossipowderhound, I am getting these for here and for north america, that is why I went wider. I've been working all summer, so I do actually have some cash for once, which is nice. I know it sounds stupid, but if they are really too wide for Australia, then I might just get a pair of mad trix or maybe public enemas as well. You can never have too many skis!

Fuck dude, the exchange rate between the Canadian $ and the Australian one is almost 1-1. The motherships at d-structure would cost you just over $470.00 Australian. Do I really need to be shopping for you?

yo man, there are a couple pairs on Ebizzle for like $300-$400. Snag some bindings where you live and have it mounted there. So that is like saving $100-$200. Not sure how much saving is important to you, but I would look into it if they are ripping you
'can you read what that says?'
