Tobacco in skiing

tobacco belongs nowhere in advertising of skiing. little kids are looking up to these guys, a lot of whom are now sponsored by this General shit. tobacco advertising is not legal in TV or movies, why the hell should it be legal in videos or websites, especially ones showing athletes who little groms idolize.

I don't appreciate fat people. I don't appreciate goth chicks. I don't appreciate people who smell bad. Its the earth, we have to share it. To anyone that complains about second hand smoke all I can say is stop bitching and deal with it.

America was built on tobacco. At one point basically our entire economy was based on it because it was really our only export. Everyone knows cigarettes are bad for you. The tobacco companies are some of the largest contributers to anti-smoking campaigns. If you don't want to smoke, don't. But if other people know the risks and smoke anyway, who fucking cares?

And thinking weed should be legal but not tobacco is so hypocritical. They should both be legal along with all natural substances.

i think your missing that kids will smoke/dip/snus regardless if its advertised on a ski website or not. they will see someone smoking on the lift, in the parking lot, at school ect.

Amazing. Probably the one true point made in this thread and it gets called a troll. I hate parents who blame outside influences on their kids turning out badly when its obviously your job as a parent to make sure your kid turns out well, its not the damn tv's job. If the tv or the internet is a bad influence, unplug the damn thing and tell your kid to read a book, and let us enjoy our drugs and smut in peace.

Well snus can hardly be considered tobacco. Sure it is tobacco and can cause mouth cancer according to the general surgeon, it still isn't nearly as destructive to poor little grom lips at cophenhagen or grizzly dips are. It doesn't destroy lungs like smoke tobacco either. Parents need to beat the shit out of their groms if they catch them doing that. I am 18 so when I put a dip in or smoke a cigar I am making the decision to harm my body regardless of what peter o does. To peter o I say cash that muthafucking check they sending you and hit up the club with two dolla bills.

No but neither does second hand smoke. Maybe if I lived at your house for 40 years and I smoked inside, then you could complain. These days you can't even smoke inside. You aren't going to be getting any second hand cancer.

Using tobacco is known to cause cancer.  There are very few other things that cause cancer in such a high percentage of people as tobacco.  Actually the only other things that cause cancer as frequently as tobacco are exposure to UV radiation and hereditary factors. 

You can't get cancer from almost anything.  Really, you can only get cancer from a very limited number of sources.

I get what the OP is saying but seriously, there are SO many anti smoking, smoking kills, tabaccy is bad for you to chew commercials and ads out there that if you start smoking or chewing nowadays and do it consistently... It is all up to you and you were probably gonna do it anyway.

tobacco is really bad for you. like really bad. i cant believe anyone in this thread age 13 or not is rationalizing  how its ok for skiers to be spanced by tobacco. some skiers nowadays will suck any dick as long as money comes out at the end.

any pro skier ass clown full of logos and shit, who gives a fuck. i hope when tobaccos giant dick is done pumping them full of seemen they explode and immediately before he dies he realizes how much of a douche he was for taking money from tobacco or super target.

you could compare these if a blunt and whiskey were full of serious chemicals a company added to the pot or rye after it was done growing or fermenting to make their customers need it and keep spending their money on and keep destroying health care systems and targeting kids, while posting insane profits. until then, lets not compare these.

Its not that kids immediately go out and buy a tin of dip. Its that their idols make it seem like tobacco is sweet, and look they give us pro skiers money and help our favorite magazines, they are ok people. its already happened in this thread. tobacco is not a good buisness. it should be shit on by everyone, not commonly accepted.

because smoking blunts is like smoking a pack of cigarettes. whiskey will destroy your liver if you drink it enough,

i smoke cigs,weed and drink. but i don't single one out as being any worst because in the end it is bad to put toxins in your body. yeah weed isnt as bad as processed tobacco but to call out tabacco and be a weed smoker is whack. its like a 500 lb person being againts mcdonalds but for tacobell.

i don't smoke, or support smoking. i used to smoke and i quit because i was fed up of waking up and my mouth tasting like last nights ash tray. i'm not straight edge. i'm a proud supporter of whiskey and sex. moderation is key. should skiers be sponsored by tobacco? no. why? because tobacco is lethal, it can cause numerous cancers and diseases, and yes i do know a few people who've had either. is it also ironic that companies like redbull aren't all that great for you either and are sponsors. yes. the difference, redbull won't send your friend to chemo at the age of 20, or send you yourself to get a chest xray or blood tests to make sure you don't have emphysema at 24.

common sense is best applied daily for maximum benefits.
