Buying my first longboard

Before the hate comes, yes i have used the searchbar but I have a few specific questions.

I am 5 11 about 160, I am looking for a board to cruise, mostly flatland/smaller hills. I have never skateboarded before but really wanna try longboarding this summer.

What board length would you recommend for a beginner of my height/weight?

What brand of board, trucks, wheels would you recommend?

Is Gold Coast a decent brand longboard?

If anyone has a used longboard they are looking to sell that they think would fit my specs pm me please

I am sorry for bumping this, but I also would like some help for a longboard.

I am thinking about getting Kracked Skulls M1, but I dont really know about the specs?

I am 6.1, 175 pounds and I will be doing a little bit of everything.

Furthermore, what type of wheels should I get and what about the lenght of the board?

just get a loaded dervish...randall 180s...some nice bearings...and some fat soft zigs and you'll be set

get something cheap to see if you like it first. you dont wanna drop like 3-400 bucks on a dervish to find out you hate longboarding. i bought a 40 dollar amazon.com board for my first one till i got decent at it, and now im looking into a new board. you dont need the nicest board on the market if youre just starting out.

i have a 43". plenty of foot room on it too. if i were to do it again i would consider buying a 41" because i've started sliding more and more.

currently it's set up with randal 180's and i have a set of 72mm retros and a set of orangatang 70mm stimulus's. both of them work really well with the board.

I just got my first longboard 2 months ago, i got a krackedskulls scimitar. Great board to start out on, super affordable. i ride 3k to school on it there and back everyday, great for cruising, and i do hills on it aswell. great board, just email Will if you have any questions, hes awesome.

i rode one with the oragatang wheels, the hardest ones, and it was great, not a really flexy board, but the nose and tail make it really easy for manuals and shove its.  the only thing i didn't like about it was that its kind of small compared to my dervish, but it was equally as fun, really easy to slide too

well, it's a loaded. to structurally it's a great board. and if you're in to the "newschool" movement in longboarding (doing manuals, flip tricks, ect.) nothing else can really compare.

obviously the board is only as good as the rider, but if you want to learn that style of riding i think that board would be an amazing choice.
i'm still looking for a chance to ride one.

For an entry board, i'd just get a sector 9, get something around 36 inches. Maybe less. They have so many boards, and most are better for an entry level skater. Good luck!
