and last year after jonnies 'dinnner'(more like corked) 7 in the olipics FIS took away their rule of no inverts in mogal comps. i was watching one day and some guy did a steezed D-spin7 thats when i learned FIS now alows inverts. thank you

just because FIS now allows inverts doesnt make them any better. its the fact that every trick has to be perfectly text book and you arent allowed to have any style whatso ever. its almost worse now that they do allow inverts so now they can go and try to say that a cork 7 needs to be performed in a certain exact way or else its not a cork 7. in short FIS is equal to the KKK of skiing. they think that there is only one way and one style and anything different or new is wrong and they hate it.

Most people hate the FIS because professional freestyle skiers like Mike Douglas don't like the FIS. Nobody who's posted so far has said something that I haven't read in some pro skier interview at some point in time. If you can't come up with your own fucking opinion on why you hate an organization, you should keep your fucking mouth shut.

Well, doesnt the FIS do drug testing? If so ALOT of pros would be outta luck cuz... well you know. I think that is the main reason, cuz alot of pros would be excluded from those events.

haha, the title makes the thread seem like the question is 'why am i suppossed to hate the FIS again?' FIS slows progression. they need to stay away from our sport. they can have racing and moguls. i will be ashamed to be a newschool skier if FIS takes over most of our comps.

hey jib_this....just because pros say this or that dosen't mean it's wrong or something. i would add that you probably don't know who on here is pro or not (according to your other posts about internet anonimity) so be careful not to confuse a vaild point with blind conformity dude.
people have issues with the fis for obvious reasons. and yes some of us think before we speak so take a chilly bro. all point are vaild in this world even those we disagree with. some just make us madder than others but stupidity is what really offends.

^i would add that there are lots of good points on here but in the end i'm stayiong focused on my own shit and frankly i ignore most of what happens like the x-games and shit like that. the fis will just make some olympic sanctioned sport of what we do and even if they do i couldn't care less as long as i don't need some special badge or a helmut in every park i go to.
fuck them, fuck most contests and fuck the control industry. i'm going skiing.

Yeah i hate fis too, because when the olympics come and are watched by millions of people around the world and they start to realize that skiing's cool again. Therefore more money will come into our sport, making better equipment and more hills that will cater to our 'free' needs. And the judging, wow how restrictive but you know what, everybody will whine about the judging anyways(Dumont was sick at the X pipe but he shouldn't have won. Three straight airs, wow how fuckin hard is that i bet any one could do that as well, minus the amplitude). At least in FIS they have a set of guidlines for the scoring instead of putting it in the judges hands completely. And the deal with sponsorship is probably going to work out the same way it did for snowboarding at salt lake and that each boarder carried their own into it (Note this is only for the olympics, no other FIS sanctioned events yet).
And if I can think of anything else then i will.

Oh yeah, the drug testing, well fuck, we've been told since we were little gaffers that drugs are bad. So why shouldn't they be tested for them, if your at the olympics kids look up to you and that's really not a positive influence.
*I'm not condeming the use of drugs but i'm saying that it wouldn't be hard to not use for a couple of months while you compete, shit you might even realize that you don't need em'

vantownloc...you're right. You also seem to get it. But you've forgotten something: Most of the kids bitching about hating the FIS have no experience in dealing with it. I certainly don't, so who am I to say 'I hate the FIS'? I can't legitimately make that statement. It's like saying 'I hate sushi' without having tried it. Hopefully that made some sense.
BTW, nothing but a shitload of respect for Mike Douglas, who's one of the reasons I ski.

but who's to say skiiers HAVE to concentrate on comps? you can quit comps, and did your own thing. Polard sure seems to be doing fine. i couldent see FIS taking over your over you'r skiing. I could see it just becoming a different part of skiing, and i don't think that would bother us as newschoolers
