A lot of the time the popcorn is from yesterday just put in the warmer. Most multiplexes end up with a few big ass bags full of popcorn at the end of the night.

Well everything else it was competing with sucked. Avatar was very mediocre. I think Invictus might have qualified, and that movie was great, but the academy must have it out for Clint Eastwood or something. Changeling was one of the best movies I have ever seen and it got a single nomination for best actress. It should have been nominated for and won best picture. It was at least 20x better than Slumdog Millionaire, and I actually quite liked Slumdog it just wasn't even on the same level as Changeling.

People saying movie sucked are facepalm worthy, and it's totally legit that they want fair compensation for their work, that's what lawsuits are for. Personally I rented it.

didn't see it or read anything about about it, but judging by the 6 oscars it was probably another one of those anti-american war films. for those of you that saw it, was it one that bashed our troops/ military? or was it more like a saving private ryan where the whole thing is epically awesome and makes us look like the heros whilst still portraying war as an ugly thing?

Its about a bomb squad, its pretty hard to portray a bomb squad badly all they do is defuse bombs. They don't shoot civilians or torture prisoners or nothing.

I didn't see it though but I heard it was very good.

As good as the HL was, Avatar should have won either best director or best motion picture. Hurt Locker won both. as many people have said, it was all politics. They decided to all vote for the first female best director when I think Avatar really should have won. If not, then Avatar should have won best motion picture. Fuck that shit.

Avatar should have won every award. even the ones that didn't apply. I mean a movie that goes that long as the number one is just insane. And a guy that's already had some of the biggest movies ever.

I wish they would just keep it in theaters for ever. I would keep going.

the most a movie has ever won is 11 i think, but 6 is still very impressive.

the only award avatar should even be considered for is for special effects. every other portion of the movie was mediocre at best.

All right, thanks....so basically, according to the judges (if thats what the oscars have) hurt locker was the best movie this year, so why are they complaining with only six?  Who cares the number if you had the most, unless theres a reason why the number is real important.  They were the same time as Avatar, one of the highest grossing films of all times, so they should be proud, I would think.

Your point is erroneous. Pocahontas, not in 3d, didn't have amazing imagery throughout. Didn't make you feel like you were flying in the coolest world, seeing the coolest stuff ever.

Tripping on pandora was the coolest this ever.

the representation of an EOD team in iraq as shown in the hurt locker is not an accurate representation of its daily SOP's

people who have been to iraq feel the movie is not accurate and resent it for that.

for a civilian you wouldn't know the difference unless you did your own research, and that is probably why you liked it for its hollywood appeal.
