Some may not find this as awesome as I do, but I just took this pic at 118 feet below sea level with a cheap, zoomless, 35mm camera in an underwater housing. This thing was 5-6 feet from nose to tail and weighed several hundred pounds.

No, unfortunately I did not. Reason being, I was diving at a marine sanctuary & I believe it is actually against the law to touch sea creatures. Also, 118 feet below the surface of the water is no place to be playing around. I didn't really want to be down that deep for more than a few seconds as it would completely change my dive profile, but I could not resist the temptation to drop from 105 to 118 for a few seconds to capture the shot.

Me too, dude. Me too. That would have been an experience of a lifetime. I was honestly mostly concerned with my safety. He was swimming with the current & if he decided to take off, I could have easily been carried in to the abyss. This would resulted in me having to swim against the current back to the boat. Not to mention that I would have been abandoning my dive buddy, which is a major no-no. As with being in the back country, safety comes first. Nothing is worth dying for. Well, at least nothing like this.
