Anyone on Ns a ruckus owner- I am now addicted and need one so bad- I guess a shitload of car guys are buying them now-

for those not in the know its basically a 50cc scooter that gets 100 mpg and you can do any modicifcation possible to it- ie motor swaps, turbo, new exhaust, boring it out- basically whatever you want

im trying to pick up a used one ( they are 2000 new) and basically turn it into a fucking kick ass commuter for school and shit- im talking offroad tires, big ass rally lights, swap a motor and turbo it-i just want something that i can bet the shit out of and still get 100 mpg

both will cause you so much trouble unless you rewire them.

I've been riding my bike all week though, so stoked, though I almost froze to death last night.

interesting, why would they cause me trouble if I don't rewire them? I don't know much about bikes I just dig the cafe racer style. I've heard that unless you roll with a toolkit and know what your doing the enfeild is a pain in the ass but please, elaborate.

the lucas wiring on older british bikes and cars is a fucking nightmare, especially ones that have been sitting for a while and have corroded a bit. anything british is notorious for being super finicky, and this is partly due to the poor quality of Lucas Industries electrical products that were used for a long period of time.

the plus is, its really easy to diagnose and fix problems, as the brit bikes are fairly straight forward, but things go wrong often.

get a 70s or 80s japanese bike if you want something reliable and that will work well for a cafe project. CBs especially have a HUGE aftermarket community, so you can get pretty much any part you could imagine super cheap. the yamaha XS650 is also a big cult bike, or the RD series, if you want to blow two-stroke smoke clouds everywhere and get yelled at by prius drivers.

has a leo vince pipe and a 70cc kit that isn't installed yet

I had one when I lived on block island last summer. I got it in the spring before I went, fabricated a motor mount for a 125 cc dirt bike engine, and it was mad fast but still looked like a stock ruckus. It was kind of complicated, but definitly not impossible
