Assuming horner doesnt have a crazy HDSLR setup (but he probably does), the 7d is a fraction of the cost, and you just confirmed it looks the same as a camera way out of its price range.

I never said anything about that, i was just pointing out he could have done the same with his old setup instead of selling everything for the 7d.

agreed, that edit didn't really utilize any of the 7D's features to the extent that it enhanced the edit.

cant deny that the 7d is extreamly versitile, might not have used all the features of it in this video but im sure there will be a time where he is very glad he has such ability.  For DOF its hard to use a system like a redrock because it limits the light so much, and it just looks like a bitch to use imo.  put ontop of that that its the same price, why not sell the red rock he had to get the far more run and gun 7d(not saying in this case he used dof that much, or that he sold the redrock, did you?).  Also im guessing a housing is wayy cheaper for a 7d then it is for an hpx so thats one reason to use that camera for this edit where the hpx wouldnt have worked. 

I know i put in alot of assumptions in this post and we all know what assuming does

Wrong, wrong and wrong.

Show me an underwater housing that comes remotely close to the same price as the underwater housings for any full size video camera.

The DOF he got on some of the longer shots is much nicer than what he would have gotten on a small chip camera.  And he was able to get a fast enough shutter to do 60p shots around sunset with extremely little to no noise.

Heath, the short, unfounded slams on HDLRs are getting a little old.  There is something to be said for the large chip, interchangeable lens cameras that are being releases in the near future.  At this point, I don't know what you have against them.  If its good enough for George Lucas and Ron Howard, I don't know what your issue is.
